when you have a multiplier or good entry, you get that white haze around you. the bigger the haze, the faster you are going. when you get a really big haze jump out of the water almost vertically, point your nose upwards, and hold the down key. if you slide on a star road, press up and you will jump out of it and go really high. this is how i do it
