i feel like this could become a good platformer in the future, but right now, it seems like a relatively mindless expedition where fish, stalactites, and thorny bushes surprise attack you without you being given any opportunity to dodge. also, the increasing level of your egg seems to have no effect besides a SLIGHTLY larger range increase, which means nothing, because all enemies die in one shot (even this is besides the point, because there is no real need to kill enemies in the first place). The game is a good start, has a good feel to it, but lacks the gameplay and story to make it compelling to play past the first few levels.
Maybe I am just playing it incorrectly, but I am having a hard time getting 4 stars on every level, despite killing every enemy, having 100% accuracy, and not taking damage, and collecting every coin (I use the helicopter to make this easy). Please fix if I should be getting 4 stars for this.
I found that once the computers initial attack of footman and macemen is held off, it is very easy to hold off the rest of the attacks, just massing up units until you are fully upgraded, and then demolishing the opponent. I never felt the need to build any of the lesser units, such as catapults, rifleman, knights, etc.
im not sure most people are recognizing all that is to be accomplished in this game: yes, its primary purpose is to be a relaxing, artistic game, but in order to accomplish the "get 20 birds" task, the jumps must line up with the music, so that stars shoot from your feet upon jumping. this type of jump is what brings the birds to the screen, not merely just not having to go backwards or stop.
that being said, playing this game to the fullest is far harder than many of you believe it is.
tip: after you buy the coffee toffee doom cannon, put a cell phone or something on the space bar to continuously use it, so you can have both hands free to spam click/aim.
I'm not 100% sure on this, but I think it is only possible to get 20/22 of the coins on StairStepper." The reason I think this is because there is normally a hidden coin at the bottom left door for each "stair combination" you can make. However, TWO of the stair combinations that are made result in you not being able to move back to the bottom left door to collect your coin, and reset the stairs. Therefore, 2 coins remain uncollected.
As I said before, I am not 100% sure that this is the case. Perhaps I am missing a fundamental idea for the level, but I have now spent 10 minutes looking for the other two coins. If the two coins are indeed uncollectable as I have described, hopefully this will be fixed in future patches.
a better way to farm exp than killing spheres at the end is to fight the purple knight guy before the final boss, kill him, and then instead of collecting the gem, kill yourself in the flames, and redo. like 500xp per kill, takes bout 15 seconds each time.
hardest game ive played in a long time. despite what others have said about making a "constant flap" control, i believe the tapping for each flap is what makes this game good. something different, and challenging. im at level 16 with 160 deaths....
