Just beat China 1937 by letting the Orange/Green fight in the West and the Red and Light Brown fight in the East. After Green (Japanese) beat Orange (Nationalists) I split Green, triggered a rebellion, and made sure never to let Green get enough for a Hero.
Tips for Dead Islands
1) The zombies that spread the necromancer's territory are the worst. Whehn possible, break the necro territory so you can then clean up the zombies behind it (who can no longer capture your territory).
2) Always watch whether a Dread (Zombie) Knight will be triggered. There are no surprises in this game.
3) Slow strategy: Dread Knights can be stopped by walls protected by a human Knight. Find a chokepoint and throw up a castle and park a Knight there. With the Dread Knights blocked off capture the rest of the territory behind it.
4) Fast strategy: Necromancer lairs only require two pikemen to defeat. Get enough resources to make long chains of villagers with two pikemen at the end. Using Rosaline at the ends of these chains means you can rescue her later after the rest of the chain is turned into zombies.
5) Zombies advance slowly. If there are five unguarded hexes the zombies can only take over one at a time (or one per Dread Knight).
I had a momentary panic when I first logged in this week. It took me to the tutorial, I hit the button to go back to Overview and all my progress was gone. But then I refreshed and it's all back.
I'm guessing each time the dev updates the game it triggers an "first time tutorial" level.
I feel like there's a reason that Civ doesn't keep gold allotted between individual cities. Big pain in the butt to send gold to a city after it's been conquered - but not too much because the city's treasury can't hold it. I would axe all the gold limiting buildings and just have one global gold pool.
Also, is there a way to queue research? I'd love that.
Wow the new changes make a big difference. Much more powerful Knights/Bishops/Rooks now. Previously I'd only been to Level 3 of the Gauntlet once, now I've reached level 5 in the last three runs. I really miss how easy the old "wheel" moving system was though (very easy to do on a trackpad).
If there's one criticism - it's that I ended up with a hand of two pawns (after some amount of cantrips) and I was directly blocked from moving because there was an enemy in the space in above of me.
This is less a game and more an exercise in fighting a frustrating control scheme. Once a piece is locked in the right space it should take a double click or some other specific control to move it out of place.
The abilities from the ship cause friendly fire. To avoid this trigger a troop ability at the same time. The troop ability will stop all combat (your guys will stay on your side) and the ship ability will hit only enemies.
If a unit is damaged when you upgrade it it can't be repaired by doctor bots (or at least the portion of HP that is upgraded isn't repaired). The HP bar never fills completely.
@countsize Hi there, actually, it really depends, on our maps, it is mainly in Asia and partly in Europe :)
