Yeah, that refund code does nothing but help you skip most of the first run though when you lose a save file, skipping much less time than the hard ascension. Never mind when you have several hard and medium ascensions completed, progress bar extentions, progress bar modules, acheivements, battle arena progress, and I am sure more than a few things I've forgotten. It is like, sorry my game killed your progress, here's 5% back. It is nice that there is something, but it isn't worth trying to get back, thanks to a brief power outage...
Sorry to hear about your loss :( While in cases of significant loss it may be possible to manually recover progress as requested (you mention what you want and I add it to your savefile), it takes quite a lot of time and usually isn't worth it. I understand that it is an extremely frustrating experience to lose your savefile whether or not it is the player's fault, but unfortunately due to the nature of Flash and the lack of an online saving system (usually not free and likely not compatible with the old technology that this game uses), there isn't much I can do other than encourage players to backup their savefiles often. I may look into giving additional rewards for Refund Code users though. Sorry!
Once you get far enough, it is just days/weeks of working to get all your hobby and job levels back up, and then finally you can get a couple of 0.1 points added to your multipliers. Should add something to make each run a little more worth while, because as it is, it is too easy to end up just waiting for the next girl for any progress.
Someone is going to have to explain to me, how bumping into the side of a spike, but not the point, can hurt more than being hurdled into a wall or ceiling...
I can't help but think it funny that they try to balance jobs in the new update, but not even touch upon hobbies, where they're largest problem is right now and you can walk away for days and return to no measurable progress. It feels like they're avoiding it as I haven't even seen them mention it in a while, other than the gilding attempt. I don't understand why they'd work on new content, if they need to balance their old content.
I've had older, more complex games, have a lot more responsiveness with issues, a new game should have everyone prepped to fix any issues that were missed in development. It has been weeks, and the game is still extremely unbalanced and the only change made so far is an attempt to put a band-aid on the issue. Giving us the option to push back your lack of foresight a few hobby levels for premium currency doesn't make any sense as that leaves out anyone who does not want to fund your lack of balance. You've known the issue, you should have come up with a solution, even with the programmer or whomever out of town, and put it together with his help on his return. At this point, it hasn't felt like balancing your game has been a priority at all.
I'd like to keep playing this game, for some time now, I generally have had it running most of the day, every day, but I have been having more and more widespread issues with flash, and I suspect that it stems from here. So unless I hear about some kind of major performance overhaul (not the reincarnation thing in testing), I am going to have to give up on this one.
So, at a 5.0X multiplier, I figured, since I can get the skills up to a certain point fast enough, 4-5 hours should be more than enough time to level a hobby from 13.5 to 15. Come back only to find that there is several hours to go still.which just makes it scary to consider even getting any of the skills to 20, let alone 50 or 60. Speaking of the level 60 skill cap, how is one supposed to get the job Wizard if the requirements are above the cap? Also, I would highly suggest having a way to keep the achievements page more manageable, especially since at this beta stage, there are over 200 achievements as it is, and would only grow as the game does. Possible have something like a drop down menu system for it, so you can look under Jobs>Space>[List of achievements regarding the space job]. This way you're not scrolling through every single achievement to find the category you're looking for, and even then you have to figure out which is what category based on the requirement.
Need a bunch of plasma for upgrades, can get at most 3 per run. So each new component seems to increase my odds of getting a good run slightly but nothing major, making it grindy once again. Thanks to the new update, I was able to get this far without much difficulty, but it is a major wall having to farm a couple of items per run, especially since I appearently need 100 to actually move on.
By the end, it gets REALLY grindy. As in do a run, get a small upgrade, do another run, get maybe a couple of other small upgrades, and maybe if you're lucky, after 10 runs, you'll get a few blocks further.
I see the potential of this game, but I am wondering if it will be updated to meet this potential, or if it is just going to be left in it's extremely unpolished state...
