Really atmospheric, nice art and music. I like puzzle games that go really in-depth with just a simple mechanic - I feel like they put more emphasis on thinking through a puzzle rather than just remembering how a million things are supposed to fit together (I'm looking at you Electric Box!) The game is challenging, but never frustrating. 5/5
I personally really dig the Electric Box type games too, especially the graphical style they had going on. I'm glad the time put into the design and balance of Coins wasn't wasted. Thanks! :)
This is what happens when you take a simple but solid concept and polish the hell out of it. Cool graphics, smooth gameplay, couldn't be easier to learn, really fun. 5/5
@Anslem 11: I think the idea is that you're racing against other people's ghosts. Fact of the matter is it doesn't make a bit of difference, and, in fact, is better: you don't have to wait in a room for people to join and there isn't any lag because the ghosts are all pre-downloaded before each race. Rather than say "hey, my internet is off and it still works, this is fake" you should say "hey, my internet is off and I can still play, great!". The reason you're getting the same names is because when you connect, the game probably just samples ghosts from the database and you play against that sample for the session.
The plot was interesting, the characters were captivating (if a bit unoriginal) and the graphics were great. All the RPG elements were all there that I liked, upgradable parts, a wide variety of weapons. However, there was one flaw I found with the actual gameplay: it was boring. It quickly became a chore to do the shooter sections - I just wanted to see what happened next in the story. I'll give the game a 4/5 because the other elements are excellent for a flash game, but if there's a sequel, I hope for more interesting combat, maybe add minigames, anything to change it up a little.
This game is basically a simple RPG with 5 mini games. It's well made and the games are entertaining, and performing well in the races is a nice reward, but the variety isn't enough to keep me interested for any long length of time.
Awesome game... Sim City meets the zombie apocalypse. The mechanics were well executed and I enjoyed finding every possible ending. I think one obvious improvement might be the addition of a zombie fighting mini-game or building mini-game, to improve your zombie killing rate or the construction of buildings. Also, more research options would be cool. I loved the reports and names of the characters, which were chock-full of funny references. It gave it real personality. The game gets a 5/5 and I hope for an improve sequel sometime in the future.
The game is good but the ball is pretty bad. I think the problem is that the ball doesn't actually "roll" across the screen - it just floats in certain directions. Rolling physics are needed to simulate pinball in a satisfying way. Right now I feel like I'm batting a paper ball which fly around the screen. The bumpers work pretty well - at least you can catch the ball.
This game is hilarious "Here's the part where you blow the crap out of the fish." I really enjoyed the gameplay and all the jokes. Too bad for that restricted part. What's up with that? I would visit your website just based on how cool this game was alone.
Make two of the three numbers a 1. It can be any of them. Make the remaining one something high - anywhere from 50 to 3000, or even higher. I found a lot of cool designs this way.
I personally really dig the Electric Box type games too, especially the graphical style they had going on. I'm glad the time put into the design and balance of Coins wasn't wasted. Thanks! :)
