Great game, but it feels a lot less polished than the first two. Whereas Robot Wants Kitty featured level design that seemed to be tailor-made for speedruns (whether intentional or not), and Robot Wants Puppy featured some innovative weapons (especially the cat itself), this installment seems determined to frustrate you at every turn through ridiculous obstacles and bosses that are incredibly hard to hit. The final corridor to obtain the Golden Key is unfairly difficult, and the learning curve is a bit ridiculous (going from two boxes circling around in a small space to a computer core and angler fish that bullet-spam you while you attempt to hit it's tiny weak point). It's worthy of a 4/5, but I feel it could have been a lot better.
The game has many things going for it, including some epic jump scares and enjoyable gameplay. However, it also lags at inopportune moments (like when you pick up a keycard or item), has very poor grammar in certain sections (the logs you read) and the new ending makes no sense. The guy's in a sealed suit for the entire game, and he gets infected by mind control, which causes him to give birth to an alien creature?
Anyway, I really enjoyed it. 4/5.
I didn't realize that you also had to beat the optional boss and complete the game in under 8 minutes in order to receive the Hard badge. I love it! Bring on the sequel! 5/5
It's not as frantic as...Frantic, and it doesn't even have the same varied upgrade system that the aforementioned game or Pixelvader do, not to mention that it rips sprites hamfistedly from other, better space shoot-em-ups. 2/5.
This game is gimped. You can pump all the XP from the first five "level up's" into the XP boost, replay the first level a few times (adding modes as you unlock them) and you'll earn THOUSANDS of XP points per playthrough. I'm currently making 14,000+ a run. 5/5!
"You can't turn powers off later."
Yes, you can. That's what the "Reset Upgrades" option is for. You can get Bourgeoisie by resetting everything and adding all upgrades except for Homing Beacon, Rain Dance and Rabbit's Foot.
If you were making badges, you should have just given them to the sequel, which is a far more polished (if not entirely balanced) game. This game has some good concepts, but it's lacking polish and varied gameplay. 3.5/5
Aside from the fact that this is a watered-down clone of Heroes of Might and Magic, I have no patience for MMO's that force you to level grind for hours just to get the simplest things done. 1/5
I power-leveled my way to the hard badge using a text walkthrough on the forums, and the East Empire town champion hit me with an insta-kill just as I hit to kill him. We both fell at the same time, I died, but I still got the badge. Great game! 4.5/5
For anyone needing to finish # of shots challenges, go to the warm-up, hold down the left mouse button, right click, move your cursor outside the game window, and you can switch over to another tab or window. The game's fun, but the achievements are kind of messed up. What's the deal with the Kar achievement? 4/5
Anyone complaining there being no "jump" button obviously didn't bother to play the first game. You can essentially "fly" around with the flame spell. This is better than the first game, but there are some odd design choices. Why do you have to finish each level four times? Where's the in-game map viewer? Still, a great effort. 4/5
Once you figure out that you can travel between two or three cities selling items at the most profit, the game becomes stupidly easy. Fix the two screwed-up achiecements and balance the difficulty, then you'll have something excellent. 3.5/5
The game feels half-complete, but what is there is truly great. I would have appreciated a longer escort segment (because three rooms is not enough), but for what is basically a beginner's attempt, it's damn good. 4/5
The game could do with some overarching awards that run through consecutive games (Tech Tree Maxed, 20000+ Enemies Killed In One Game, All Total Survivors Killed, All Total Survivors Saved, etc.). The game is very enjoyable and fun to play.
I play one game, upgrade to the highest level gun, and find out that it's worse than the third-best gun. I upgrade my ship all the way to the highest class and still get slaughtered by the boss in the second section. I don't why there are two different missile classes when only one is really needed. This game is all over the place.
The medium badges should be hard badges, especially when you have to put in 5+ hours just to upgrade the arrows alone. Never mind upgrading all the troops, because that's a whole other can of worms. Otherwise, this is a very enjoyable game.
