on maps such as th e boulder cavern, if you place a trap on the top tile, you are unable to upgrade the trap, because when you try to, the drop down comes down and gets in the way, rendering it impossible to click on the upgrade button. but still, a fantastic game. 5/5
talk about a great mind-boggling game... well done, and great background music, not to mention the touching poetic phrases of the mother in between... awesome!
after you pass a certain point, its almost impossible to die; I think the problem is that the difficulty scale is not well adjusted for the latter levels in order to ensure the hero's death, plus the rewards for clearing those monster filled arena's and especially killing the goblin king (who can easily be the target of spells such as polymorph) are too high... make the goblin king MUCH harder (i.e. not be a target of spells, he attacks you even if you attack someone else -like the axe throwers or the mages-, MUCH higher attack power etc.). BTW I'm playing with an almost fully upgraded assassin, and he's just too powerful, stunning, double slashing, dodging etc. when compared to other characters... oh, and reduce the life gain from recycling spells; thats another thing that allows for infinite go-ons...
my main character who got his legged chopped just ran and killed 2 guys with only 1 leg?!? and just 1 match ago, he wielded his 2 handed axe to finish off a guy when one of his arms was chopped off... I like the idea that my guy is a terminator, but he should show this side during the battle, not only when the crowd wants it :P or MAYBE, one of the other characters should finish off the opposition if the main guy is incapacitated? :)
a great way to add music to a fun game genre! very fun, albeit hard on some levels (especially the lasers, almost made me rage quit at times). Although the lasers seem good in terms of being innovative with the delay and musical flashes etc. it will cause (and already has) a lot of people rage quitting. maybe either reduce its difficulty or remove it completely if you do a sequel (which think you should btw). overall, 5/5.
I got ready like hell for survival mode (around 150 weapons mixture of turrets and mortars, 16 speeders, around 40 reactors etc). and managed to hold them at bay, now starting to push them back square by square :)
got 3 endings:
1) got all crystals
2) killed 10 creatures and beamed up without crystals (you have to talk to a creature that gives you the secret of beaming up in one of the caves, towards the left of the world)
3) climbed the wall that goes on forever
on the 3rd finish, I ate the fruit of youth, I'm not sure if it changes anything if you finish the game without eating it.
great game, but after experimenting with the towers, although each has its own power and goes good for a certain level (eg. planes on the looping level), the monkey buccaneer (final upgrade into battleship) is by far the best tower in terms of cost effectiveness.
and great in game sayings / quotes; "Legends speak of a being that fears no bloon" :D awesome!
any tips on how to get the "spiffing headwear", "delightful desecration" and "lets play protector!" achievements? (not to mention the IMPOSSIBLE dragon master achievement)
has anybody been able to attain the dragon master achievement? if there isnt something like decreasing the amount of stress it generates, its mathematically impossible to attain mastery in 52 weeks with 2.1 + 2.1 = 4.2 increase in skill in 3 weeks (the 3rd week is for the rest to decrease the stress)... anyone?
other than the english, the game is really good, quite fun to play, and doesnt get boring, and as OAdvent said, maybe it could use a larger variety of weapons (and maybe ships), but thats not something to deduct a rating for, and nor is the english. To those people who give low marks just because of the english, not everyone in the world has to have a good command of english to make a good game you know. What if japanese games werent translated to English at all? what would you have said then? so stop pestering the creator and downgrading the game because of the english. All in all, a well-deserved 5/5.
there should be an action to turn around when you dont want to move but turn so that you dont have your back at the opponent. Not when retreating though, so it should be like a move or something similiar that takes up your movement point. Plus you should be able to make your own path when walking, I had to walk through 2 layers of firewall because the AI coulldnt interpret that moving one step to the side BEFORE entering the firewalls would be better. other than that, great game 5/5
I cant finish the arcane level on level id 29. I always get overwhelmed by the 2 consecutive swarm waves, not the first set, but the second, and one time, the last set. any tips?
