Grenadiers are severely overpowered. Either make them harder for the enemy to get, give them some other debilitating weakness, or just remove them altogether. Seriously, I can have a large group of units and one grenadier squad can ruin the battle. It's so very unfair.
I only have one complaint: sometimes, and considerably more often than I'd like to see, you are not awarded shields for accomplishing precisely what is asked of you, even more so. For instance, in one of the areas on the second region, I made sure I got more than 2,000 gold before spending it, in addition to whatever gold I collected through the battle and used for soldiers and whatnot. I KNOW I got 2,000 gold, but never received a shield. Shields are hard enough to get in the first place when you're scraping the bottom of the barrel for shields you didn't pick up earlier, so please fix this.
I've come across an odd bug on... maybe the third floor. It is far from game-breaking, don't get me wrong. Simply put, the floor itself, not the walls, seems to detach from the room while the walls are stationary, and move normally as the camera follows the character. Basically, the floor seems to be raised up. I assume this is caused by code left over from an alpha or beta stage of this game, since the hole in the center of the boss room (where this bug occurred) was replaced with a staircase, similar to the type seen in 2-D Zelda games.
This only appeared in said boss chamber, when I was a few meters from the wall in the lower right corner of the screen, as the map is slanted, and would affect only the main HUD. I could not see my character or any enemies while this bug was going on, but I could navigate using the minimap, and I had all but cleared the room anyway, so it was all good.
Anyway, just thought you should know.
No!!!! Level 17 Human Fighter on Floor 12 and ran out of magic for Sanctify!
I was a proud fool to fight outnumbered.
Those the gods would destroy they first make proud.
I would like to see a weakness to those charging enemies. Even if you hit them with entangle, they can still charge, thus if you are being overwhelmed, just ONE charging foe will kill your epic character. Please change this. It makes the game very unfair in those circumstances.
Unfortunately, despite how against paying for this I am, I'm still inclined to buy it. Honestly, my imagination is sparked so easily that a game like this will easily pull me in to try and see the story through. Ah, well. I'll look for something else to satisfy me.
Alright... who the hell decided to end the demo right before I can get my damned Legion Chestplate!? Give me my free full version and my armor or i will get cyber-violent.
I think I found a bug. When I try to use an offensive power on the enemy in the uppermost position, I always end up targeting my own ally. I hit my own merc twice with pierce and killed him before I realized what happened.
Wow, one time I found Anna, and instead of her being one of the sitting bodies, she was actually hanging herself. That, and she was with another survivor, like that person was letting my daughter commit suicide right as I walk in.
@1dbomb
The Varangian Guard were actually a division of Byzantine specialized heavy infantry of purely Scandinavian descent, but were ever actually soldiers under a native king.
Also, I found a problem. It isn't too big, but if an archer unit is on the verge of being slaughtered, ie it has around 90 guys left, it can still kill 200 men in a single volley if they can hit that many. It doesn't make sense. If you can patch the game, please fix that problem.
To people complaining about archers, shut up. @ marine9933, guess how Athens slaughtered an entire Spartan army in the Peloponnesean War. Give up? It was with an army of archers and skirmishers. TO people complaining about taunting, I agree it was too effective. It wouldn't be if the context sensitive morale system were more realistic.
