Unless I'm missing something, I don't really understand the love for this game. Every mission is make as much flat land as you can and then click the fight button. Maybe toss in a storm if you're bored. Wins every mission with zero effort.
Wow, you do not understand what New Game+ means. I fully expected to start over with all of my upgrades and unlocks intact. If you're going to use a phrase that already has a certain connotation, you either need to match that or fully explain the differences.
I have two major problems with the game. The first is that there is no real goal. Sure, there are short term objectives and the "goal" can be seen as 100% completion, but there's no purpose or drive to it all.
Which leads into my next problem of which time doesn't matter. The research speed upgrade is only useful in reducing real world time which, while nice, means that you've put in an annoying mechanic to your game and an in-game way of solving it for no reason other than for it to exist. This of course highlights the fact that the time that research takes really has no impact on the game.
No, that's it. Level 15 is too hard. Between spark destroying all my ships and terror mage causing me to discard the rest, there's no way to get ahead. Even if there's some specific strategy that makes this level easier, it's not clear what that might be. Done.
Yes but it's easily countered : energy structures that deal 1 damage to a random ship, place a technowall or plasma screen or thogrom bomber in front of it, place an unblockable ship in front of it.
The achievement tracking is super broken. Got the read 20 books after only about 5, 50 headshot kills after I'd only gotten maybe 30 kills total, 100 pistol kills way sooner as well.
The balance on this game is brutal. There are so many no win situations. Phoenix should cost fire to regen, owner's option. Astral Guard shouldn't reduce growth below 1 or should affect fewer elements. Chrono Engine should cost time to use its power. Master Healer needs a lower health or a lower heal; right now he's incredibly difficult to kill. Those are just a few of the obvious ones. Stats need to be rebalanced all around. A good rule of thumb: if the creature is powerful, it either needs lower defense or an upkeep cost or a cost to use its abilities.
Not the greatest balance. Mitigation against randomness is pretty much non-existent. Most fights go: lose, lose, lose, gold medal after I luck into a black hole.
Sucks that there is no quit or restart button. I also have to agree with the book clicking mechanic. Rapid clicking is never an enjoyable gameplay feature.
Are you kidding me? This is the third best Kongregate has to offer so far this month? Little to no real challenge. No variety in levels. It's not terrible, but there's no way this should be showing up on the top games list.
Is there any way to collect your items from your factories (wood, bread, toys) before it fills up? If not, it means there's a fairly significant disadvantage to fully upgrading those rooms. I'm finding that at level 7, I'm going through an entire day without filling it.
