If you have a lot of Arcane and wind up insane with Megalomania, use your +Arcane cards before you try to regain sanity, because you will be reduced to zero, even if you had built up more before Mego.
So disappointing. The last level (stupid ending, BTW), has serious AI problem. After a while, the AI simply stops making units. The first time I played the level this took a while, and I was at such a disadvantage I almost lost (normal diff). The second time I didn't have to hold out for long and the AI just stopped making units, even with tons of cash and plenty of factories. Disappointing. Otherwise, it's pretty solid overall.
also, when an enemy is right next to one of your soldiers, one of them is going to get killed. Slowly walking by is just not going to happen in real life. See also Germans walking through trenches and bunkers.
I like the concept very much, but the slowness is unbearable.
Suggestions:
• Soldiers in the prone position should be able to crawl to their objective.
• Mines ought to have some kind of indicated radius, so that you know where to place them so they don't blow up your own men.
• When a soldier is in a trench it should indicate that he's there better.
• The bunker is cool, but practically unusable, as you cannot see who is in there. Yes, the mouseover still works, but it's not enough.
• The engineer seems buggy. You can click to build something, and get a message that he's too far away. Suggest that either the ghosted image changes to indicate that it's possible to build, or he automatically runs to the position and builds it.
• Kill the Impact font and go with something more readable at smaller sizes (Arial, Verdana)
• Put a status bar at the bottom for the mouseover data, and add a highlighting to your currently selected soldier. More useful when the action is hot.
Very bad bug. If you're moving the map when a pop-up comes in, the game frequently will not allow to to close to the pop-up, so there's no choice but to restart.
3/5
I *can* type, but this game's combo system doesn't actually reward accurate typing, it rewards speed. Why, in a typing game, does the combo expire because of time and time alone? Many times I'll be on a high multiplier and I'll lose it—not because I miss-typed anything, but because the gap between enemies was too much, so my skill is defeated by the randomness of the AI.
Also, why is the word "KIKES" in this?
This is a fun time. The key is to not use your character to fight. Keep getting the best melee fighters in your front two lines, and load up on archers and crossbows in the reserves. Then you keep healing your fighters and bringing waves of deadly rain from the rear. INT and Art of War pump up your guys to levels you can't believe.
Would be a five star game if the inventory management wasn't so cumbersome.
