Unfortunately the latest update to the game made things much worse for players. Premium content is harder to obtain, upgrading the cards you do get is significantly harder, general grinding was already high and now they've lowered the drop rates. The game had a lot of potential but the recent updates have been making the game worse with each change.
FrostFury: Actually, the whatever other site is Kongregate. It has always been here and only here. The only change is it used to be mobile-only and now you can play on Kong Mobile or Kong Web.
OmegaBlue0231: Only the first three heros need to be purchased in order. After that you can purchase any of the heroes you want. You do have to increase your fame level in order to open another slot on your team, but once a slot opens you can choose any of the heroes to recruit.
blarney, no quick fix for Suspend. Drop CCs in upper right and two left islands. Build a couple collectors to cover the islands in green. Build two mortars and two beams per island. Upper right has the best area, so build the forge there. Start filling out each island with reactors and build a third mortar on each until you get a stable economy. You can link the islands on the left using relays, then capture the lower right island with a few mortars and cannons. Build 3-4 cannons to protect a relay bridge across the lower gap to link all islands. Use snipers to kill the bugs, strafers and bombers to start your attack on the creeper base, and slowly advance using mortars and cannons. Once you kill one item, use a nullifier on that spot so you get a larger radius on your nullifer to kill several more at once. And that last letter in my name is a G, not a Q. Good luck. I prefer to be stable instead of rush, so my best time is only 26:25.
An easier option for the "experiment" level is to start building your base at the top of the screen with your command centers sheltered behind the islands, and build a guppy right away. One guppy can rescue everything without having to sacrifice any structures or start building again.
@Hyxaru: The trick to Experiment is to build a siphon on the green gem to get energy, then build a guppy and use the guppy to rescue the pods (start at the bottom-most islands). Once the guppy starts rescuing, build 3 beams on your main island. Once the guppy rescues all pods, then build a few mortars to protect the main island, then start the slow crawl to capture the top three islands, get a forge going, start upgrading then move south once you build a good economy. It's slow, but not difficult.
@taugrom: Collectors create the links but also generate energy. Relays do not generate energy but two relays can be much further apart (good for jumping valleys). Siphons allow you to collect the energy from green gems (quick boosts of energy for the beginning of a game).
@upinsmoke28 - It is considered a weapon. Click on the Equipment link, move it to one of the assignable locations (#3 for me), then while in town, press the key assigned to the trap and it will put it on the ground. If a mob walks into it, they will get held in place for you to attack.
@roomiller and @LostJester09 - Go to one of the areas that touches an undiscovered area, and in the Fairgrounds, choose to Attack from the Tower as your activity. This will clear the way to the next area.
@fatehunter: When you explore an area, the master will be one of the people randomly hanging out (if you have the Eagle Eye skill, he'll be a green dot). When you get close to him, he will ask you to take him to the tavern. Once you deliver him to the tavern and leave the area, you can click on him in the workshop and get his skills added to your list.
Badge says 13/13 levels completed in Normal, but badge is not awarded. Also, the 156 badge says I only have 155 stars, but I've gotten 3 stars on all levels in Extreme, and the graphics show all stars lit. Not sure where the missing star is.
Fun game; easy enough to play casually if that's what you want, but enough scale to be a challenge. One little bug I noticed; if you get two stars on a tutorial level, then play it again and get three stars, sometimes when it renders the three stars, it shows the first two in their original place and the third partially overlapping the second.
@zyodei, under settings, you can turn off sound and music.
@Symax, the guy that floated off is off screen. If you can, build a Sniper with Range extenders and you should be able to hit him (assuming you have the cash to build enough).
Still mid-game, but so far it looks really nice. One thing that would be really helpful is that if you fast forward to the next wave starting, if your spell cooldowns would fast forward, as well. Waiting just so your cooldowns continue to cooldown adds an unnecessary delay.
And big props for fixing bugs and replying to user comments.
At the one-hour mark, the game automatically transitions to survival mode, during which the rate at which creeper is produced increases significantly (and continues to increase as time continues).
The shield blocks you can build will hold back the creeper for a time, but your weapons can fire through it. So you can build a wall to hold the creeper in the small spaces while you hit it with a few blasters and mortars.
@DaltonRick: For Easy and Medium games, the banana farms can be helpful, but aren't necessary. For Hard games, you will have the farms in operations long enough for them to pay for themselves and more. When upgraded to 4/2, they make $3000 per round. Then if you consider free mode past level 85, they become absolutely critical to gaining enough cash to buy the sun god towers.
