Why are they not ok? Because they offend a few people? Jack Johnson, one of the greatest boxers the world has ever seen made his appearence in one of the most racist times for the US in history and a huge amount of people were offended by the fact that a black boxer might be able to beat all the best white boxers, but does that mean it was wrong for him to box?
For christ's sake if I can survive 15 bomb drops, 40 or so airstrikes, and 50 or so arty shells in one round from using my brain, you can survive arty strikes from using my comment.
Another thing I found is solar collectors can have as many things hooked up to them as you can fit. Now I use solar collectors instead of lots of relays in groups of asteroids. Nice boost of energy, energy right where you are building and mining, and they take less time to tear down in case you need to fall back.
',=\ Interesting. I had no problem using my strategy. It's probably easier to keep your base large so as to spread out the enemy's forces. The only problem I encountered was swarmers, they move too fast to set up adequate missile defenses.
When attacked by anything besides motherships you are basically guaranteed to have enough time to create a hasty defense capable of defending against almost anything. Recylce and move on, don't creat permanent base defenses unless you are prepared to stay and fight the rest of the game.
Recycling=micromanagement but also means an extremely efficient base. Upgrading things means permanence and therefore inefficiency in the face of deficiency of resources. Best way to do it is make 10-15 small mining platforms per asteroid and recycle and move on. It mines quicker without loss of efficiency when recycling. Same with base defenses.
Last level is easy if you have the right strategy. No one wanted to listen to my strategy so if you want to know how I beat it with almost no difficulty, check my comments box on my profile.
Strategy for mission 6 (that is if you need one because I beat it first try and thought it was one of the easiest albeit the funnest missions). Build a circular defensive 2 power lines radius and make a power line circle connecting all 4 power lines. Make a web of lines, get 3 solar collectors, 1 storage unit. Line the circle with pulses and then use most of the rest of your minerals on missile turrets leaving some for repair bays and missiles. There, mission 6 beaten.
I don't know why, but this strategy came naturally to me and I haven't lost a single mission. I am currently stomping the last mission with control of the entire asteroid field.
When you reach where you've wanted to be and consumed as many asteroids as you need within your defensive powerline walls, build lasers all around the entire perimeter, don't bother upgrading them. Build missiles and repair bays as motherships come, but anything else will fall easily to the might of your defensive wall.
This strategy not only allows you to conserve resources by recycling your platforms constantly, it increases ease in which you acquire new asteroids to mine. Oh yes, create solar power collectors and a storage unit and always upgrade the collectors to max as soon as you get them. When motherships come, you should have plenty of resources to fend them off with missile launchers, although some of your lasers might die. Build some repair bays if you want to recycle for full again.
Create laser platforms as you get the resources just like I said in beating mission 6. when they hit from other sides do the same thing but recycle the other ones from the other side to make the ones on the side being attacked.
And if you find the normal missions hard, try this. Start off by build energy lines to every cluster, upgrade solar power collector to max in the beginning, create as many mining platforms as you can, upgrade the platforms. When something comes in at you, qucikly build a 1 line thick wavelike power line in the direction they are coming from.
Haha! Everyone is complaining about mission 6? Mothership mission right? Make a tight circle with pulses on every corner and then make a cluster of upgraded Missile launchers and make a few repair bays and it's extremely easy.
Also, I know it would sound farfetched to most people, but maybe PVP. This would also go in conjunction with ally ships and movable stations but wouldn't that be awesome? Swarming your enemy's mining base with ships and fighting over asteroid fields lol. Just a thought XD.
I think it's one of the best games on the site! But I do have some suggestions. Map editor, more enemies, more weapons, allied ships, allied mining colonies, more unique upgrades (Ie: Upgrade pulse to wave or gattling laser), movable stations, and ability to retain your resources but move to a different asteroid field (goes hand-in-hand with ally ships and movable stations).
Wooooo! Freaking great game! I definitely CAN believe it might pass up mastermind for rank 3! Great game, 5/5, added to favorites. Although it would be nice with a bit more enemies and weapons. Maybe add in some ally ships or ally mining bases to protect or help you fight.
