For example, you create a layer above the rest of the game layers and call it “inventory”. On that layer you can line up some movieclips along the top or bottom of the game screen, so it’ll be like an HUD. And then you could make conditions like: if (Key == true){ And then if you get to a locked door for example in the game: if (Key == true){ This might be above your level, and dont feel bad about it. I used to be a terrible programmer too. Now I’m getting a lot better and I’m pretty good at it now. I suggest you learn how to use variables, that’s how I started to get good. :D show less

lol put still arrays are more professional but i would have rather used variables but i didnt think of the idea =/

I have just learned how to use variables, and they’re awesome. So be sure to learn what they are and how they work. Also, learn to integrate the kongregate API; it’s simple once you get the hang of it. That’ll maximize your earnings, and if they’re really good, your games will get badges :D show less |
