Welll ahhh....it's and unfinished game. What more can I say. The jumping is kind of akward for me, though it works pretty well. I also didn't know you could jump on enemies until I accidentally landed on one. Music, color, and all these little things in the finished version would be great.
Now let’s get onto the good things. Very cool looking character models- Mardek looks quite the hero, and having a Lizardman in my party? *spoiler* Awesome. Character development is very nice, oh and the comical tone. Every little flaw in RPG logic and reasoning being put into a satirical form is pure genius. The silly NPC's you come across make it much more enjoyable. A large variety of items and abilities are a nice touch, a bit overwhelming at first, but you get used to it. All in all, it's a fun game and I hope that one day I can be as good at making games as Psedolonewolf here already is. Keep up the great work!
Ah...this game has finally been released and I couldn't be happier. I actually gasped when I saw MARDEK RPG: Chapter 3. I haven't gotten too far into it yet, but already I can see it for the gem it is. First off I'll just talk about a couple things that I didn't like. The Inventory Screen. To equip items to a character said character must have the item in his/her inventory apparently. This confused me greatly, when I figured it out it was fine. The inability to carry over previous saved games broke my heart. After learning every ability and equipping the best gear, for it to vanish before my eyes was horrible. I miss being able to cast M. Barrier. Not necessary in almost any fight in Mardek 2, but in 3 it seems every enemy has a potent magic spell to launch my way!
The fact that blocks are destroyed when you touch their sides makes it really hard to have fun with. Several times I would have beat a level, only to accidentaly destroy the block I was about to jump on because I brushed up against it. 3/5.
Hmm... I could care less about the badges if I have to play this mediocre game to get them. It's a good idea... very bad execution. It needs improvement, like making it not one of those sucky you wait a day and then you can get more energy games.
It's quite fun, not a new comcept to gaming but you acheived it very well. It would be great to see some badges or online or something. Once you play through it it doesn't have much replay value.
GLITCH!! In the temple or whatever where you have to match up the paint with the right statue, it's screwin up. For some reason, when I pick the orange paint it's orange up until the part where I pour it in the cup, then it becomes yellow and I can't finish the puzzle. It's really quite annoying and I don't want to do everything over again. I refreshed the level and the same thing happened.
Magic is way overpowered, it makes soldiers useless after you get the fire spell. Gathering resources is annoying as heck, and the AI is flat out retarded. Unit costs are ridiculous for how weak they can be compared to slightly more expensive, but heavily superior forces. The market is also pointless, and does upgrading anything past lvl 5 actually do anything? It gets a 2/5 from me, it's not a bad game concept, but it has a whole lot of flaws.
AAAAAAAARRRRRRGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I died an and Hardcore on......... ARRRRRGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!! Erased all my game data.... ARRRRGGHHH!!
