5/5. Games like this just don't get developed anymore on Kongregate as a platform. The artwork is hand-crafted (Look at the detail the artist put into those overhead Act maps!). The music is used properly. The gameplay has a core loop including the discovery of fundamental shifts in how the game's strategy works (unlocking classes/abilities) while still maintaining the game's difficulty balance. This game's future iterations could compete with the likes of Learn To Fly, SAS: Zombie Assault and Gemcraft. Platon Skedow brings back the best of Kongregate in an age where most studios that used to release here are trying to express-lane Steam Greenlight so they can put up a half-baked Unity games for $2-5. tl;dr ... There's nothing half-baked about Stellar Squad.
I put all of my money into an upgrade that I didn't want by accident.
How do I reset my upgrades and get back all the money that I've earned?
Or is there no way to do that, and do I have to start the game all over again???
Here I am again,
in a jail cell as the world burns. Completely forgetting of my past.
Oh, who is that out there, with the two guards, rushing through a crypt like this? Is it the Emperor of the Imperial city? Am I the one he saw in his dreams?
No. Wrong game.
Damn. Since illness makes the thirst bar never increase, the game disallows you from eating berries.
I'm starting to think the perpetual illness and forever 0 thirst thing is a bug.
Also while "ill" my thirst bar never seems to increase. Even after sleeping, when prior it would increase both hunger and thirst. Now it only increases hunger.
Odd. I've played through to fall, and am now perpetually "ill". Medicine will only lower the sickness bar, never curing the illness.
Hopefully this is just some joke about flu season. I'm hoping there's some way to cure "ill" when winter comes.
I'd like to add that my current auto-mine level is far beyond 50, and the linear equation below doesn't extend this high (at automine level 609, power is 512.3m, not = 609^2 * 9/5 = 667.6k). I'm betting that at certain intervals the power-per-level expands rapidly in order to compensate for the growing number of items needed to forge. Perhaps the linearity remains a transient component?
Spreadsheeter here again. I've tabulated the first 50 power values for Auto Mine, Auto Forge, Auto Smelt, and Auto Enchant. They are all the same. They are all also linear with level: where 'L' is the level #, the power-at-level is = ROUNDDOWN(9/5 * L^2) past level 1 [which is zero]
Spreadsheeter here. For those of you doing analysis, you'll find that this game is quite the bit more complex than the usual idle clicker, both in gameplay and the functions used behind the numbers (There's an imaginary "i" in e^(i*pi*n) or cosine behind the generation of the Bargain level costs)! It's also very hard to generate a best-fit line for nearly all of the functions at low levels, as the 4-decimal cap on the numbers you see is an enormous limit on your accuracy. I will however point out one of the most immediate functions for those of you just getting started: where 'n' is the ore # (copper = 1, iron = 2...), the Ore HP-to-mine is = 50+2^n .
@Ruffian_Squee: I ran into the same problem around damage level 1300 or so. Just keep upgrading damage. And it'll turn back to positive. I suggest doing the restart thing, though, as there's not much more you can gain up there for the time being.
Okay. I managed to overcome the problem where I never do more than zero damage by simply increasing my damage another 2000 levels. However I ran into a new problem: Around Omni x227 I've stopped generating coins... but only while the "coins flying to the top left" graphics are enabled. If I turn the graphics off, I start generating coins again. ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Isjgc0oX0s )
@Ruffian_Squee: See my earlier posts and image related to Auto-Attack by clicking on my face. ( http://imgur.com/AEkb7nI ). At level 1000 you should be on the edge of the sinkhole. Soon, things for you are going to get very, very strange.

I've now reached such a high level that I can no longer do damage. I can only break shields if I press forward, then back again. The bottom two swords are significantly higher in level than the other 4. Perhaps find and replace all longs with doubles (or longer)? There's some serious bugs that pop up once you start generating numbers higher than the variables are set to take.
Thank you!
