Just had a game with fantastic RNG, and thanks to a pit dropping me right on the edge of the last area of Arcane Tower I was able to save 2 blink scrolls and get a +5 Storm Chopper Axe behind a timed gate I couldn't open later on as a result. Still don't know how timed gates work, I guess sometimes you can get really stupidly lucky. Had Necro with almost all +5 equipment by the end, even though I wasted some gold buying Boots of Speed only to get the same pair two levels down. I really hope I didn't use up all my luck for the rest of ever, does steam have a more updated game?
Have beaten the game with three characters so far; necro, ranger, and most recently warrior... starting to get the hang of it, but really wish status effects like Infectious Disease, Slow, Poison and such had colored icons, and more detailed effect info, it's really hard to gauge how bad your situation is sometimes before it's too late. This has gotten me while stacked quite a few times, as one to two turns of not noticing a status effect will destroy you. It took me forever to realize 'Slow' stops diagonal movement.
At first I rated this at 4 stars, because I feel it's a bit lacking in equipment, but I had to up it to 5 because I'm 10 missions in and I can't help but noticed the levels are well designed and very balanced. I agree with previous statements, I'd like to see a sequel to this game with some skill/exp and more weapon/item options. Still, very nice game, i didn't have to farm much to equip all my guys, I'm going the high AP route
Is there anything on stage 9, second screen, top left, above the triangle? there's a nook you can hold onto, but i'm nowhere near the winged boots level to try it. hardmode of course
it gets so tough on hard it's unplayable with lag, but still deserves the 5/5 because with smooth graphics this would be a very accomplished game. story's short, but doesn't pretend to be the point anyways.
after playing story mode and enjoying the game's pacing, i find the challenge of hard mode surprising in a very pleasant way. i like the upgrade system, find myself having to think through situations much more on hard mode. playing on chrome, so i gotta take a break because my game's too laggy now, but very enjoyable game, i'l be coming back to finish the last levels
Oh, and I wasn't complaining about my stats carrying over... After an hour of endless mode it was completely satisfying playing the last level in campaign mode and annihilating everything with my new stats, which weren't so overpowered that they took out the fun. Seriously, great game. Earned the 5 stars easily.
On a side note, only noticed very late that the bestiary and auto-fire were in options, didn't really look in there the whole game. Also, even though you're listed as lvl 50 max in campaign mode, your Endless Mode stats carry back over into campaign, in terms of Tower HP and Arrow Damage (not sure if magic scales, a lil harder to calculate). That was a lot of fun, finally got 100%, and it took every spell I had and a lot of pausing on the final boss to switch spells out. 5 slots work out, but maybe a 6th at least would be nice. Also, I had problems with not having a full skill tree earlier, but resetting my stats did the trick, seems everything works perfectly now. Well done guys, that was a lot of fun, and a lot of work. I had to quit after the hour though, I've spent too much time on this :-) look forward to your next project.
Finally did it! I used demon spells 1-3 for my first three, and the third level spells of fire and ice for my 4th and 5th slots. Use only this combo throughout the entire endless mode, until Scourge comes. When Scourge comes, prep the lvl 4 fire and ice spells in 4th and 5th slots, use ice and then fire (to take advantage of Thaw) in rapid succession, then switch to lvl 4 demon spell for your fourth slot, and back to either 3rd fire or ice spells for 5th, to start it cooling back down. Soon as a horde builds up again drop the 4th lvl demon spell, and follow it up with both lvl 2 fire and ice spells right in front of tower, to cover it, using the 4th slot. Once that is done replace switch over back to the original setup and pray to whatever you do that you don't get nailed by suicidal goblins. After Scourge is FINALLY dead, use the first 3 lvls of demon spells, and cool down all your lvl 4 spells in the 4th and 5th slots to prepare for the next Scourge round. All medals completed.
GAH 54 mins and Scourge gets me again... went with demon tree this time, which is definitely the way to go... big problem I'm finding with the HP upgrade is that the running bombers are impossible to kill, so if you get two in a row in a huge horde and can't get to them, you're done.
No worries, I started in Normal mode... maybe some of the complaints you're getting are from Baby mode players. There is absolutely no way to beat it, i used ALL the spells i had available. I'm good though, that was the only medal i was missing.
I'm over level 65 on endless mode, and I can't make it past the 20 minute mark because there's no way for me to beat the scourge guy AND the endless horde when everyone has double to triple the health they had in quest mode... don't know if it's a recent update, but I just can't get past it. I've tried cycling through all my spells, but since cooldowns don't work when a spell is off your skill bar all I end up doing is wasting them all and having nothing to use.
Damn, this was posted just before I uploaded the newest build approximately 2 or 3 minutes ago (in which I buffed Endless Mode enemies even more!) I've been getting constant feedback that Endless Mode is still too easy. It's hard to know if those people are incredibly high in level or not but I received enough feedback to once again buff it. I'm sorry but you're probably going to have a bit more trouble now. D:
Definitely worth the 5 stars... lvl 50 is perfect for getting all the skills you need, and I really like how endless mode allows you to go over that and earn the extra skill points to full up. Very solid game. I do think there should be 7 spell slots though, the basic spells from each tree are extremely necessary, leaving you with two slots for lvl 4 spells... two more would make the lvl 2 and 3 spells much more functional.
Finally beat the Lost Guns mode... still haven't unlocked the last guns on my guys, but engine upgrades are critical... during the second half of the game garages are your very best friend... great help guide! loved the game... it usually gets super laggy for me after i pass through about 3-4 areas... while the reload is really long, refreshing and continuing is one way to make it through
