Yay, 818 seconds!
Some tips if people are having trouble:
- Always avoid the Turret powerup. It hurts more than it helps, usually, by blowing asteroids toward you.
- When a giant meteor comes, try to keep it on screen as long as possible. Remember, every second it stays on screen is a second you gain without having to fight off the hard waves of asteroids.
- Concentrate on hitting the sides of asteroids as much as possible to save ammo.
- Pay attention to the direction of the wind by looking at the clouds in the background.
These are sort of common sense, but they might help somebody, hopefully.
I like the music.
600 seconds is a bit too long, though. I got 500 seconds and felt like I'd been playing more than long enough; that is there wasn't any new development to the game by that point.
So much of the same thing, over and over again, and so slow too. This game reaches extremes of monotony. Once you've seen one level, you've seen them all.
I found a really odd glitch. I ran out of time on level 30, after I had beaten the boss but there was still one fire-shooting enemy left. I only got one bonus point. Then I pressed the 'pause' button, and in the background behind the upgrade options, I clicked "resume game." I resumed playing the level, with the upgrade options still there, and killed the last enemy. Then the level finished a second time, and I looked and saw I had 5 bonus points. Seems like I got an extra bonus point out of the deal, so I'm not complaining.
I enjoyed this game until I realized just how difficult the hard badge was. It's like being given a delicious candy that you love until you find out that you must eat 100 pieces of it, then you become nauseous and grow to hate that candy and wish you had never tasted it.
I stayed in the lower left corner for most of the game, because otherwise I couldn't tell where I was amidst all the colorful chaos. (My eyes aren't that great, to be fair.) I was surprised to find that staying in the corner actually made the game extremely simple; enemies seem to rarely go to the corners, so I was able to just sit there and shoot the whole time.
Quite easy, but still fun. My only problem is that it's sometimes hard to tell your bullets apart from the enemies' bullets. Perhaps you could make them a different color. Anyway, this was fun; not as pretty as flow, but still fun.
