OK, a vocal minority of the commentators here are lazy, ignorant retards. Even though the previous version of Flash has numerous remotely exploitable vulnerabilities, they still advocate that we should all downgrade Flash just so we can play a game with such "special" needs that it's the only piece of software that causes the new player to crash. Thankfully, most people don't fall for that. Makes you wonder about Kongregate and their reluctance to remove this game, though.
Lovely game to pass the time. Easy going and fun but not very challenging. It could get a lot more interesting by adding upgrades (i.e. shoot that treasure chest to get the technology), more, varied and challenging levels (there's a sniper on that hull, take it out), a storyline (take a look at creeper world).
Ironically enough, if this game works for you then you have an old version of Adobe Flash and you need to upgrade because that version has a serious security vulnerability.
Gave it a try but I just stopped at level 8. It's so hard and frustrating that it'd have to be the only game on earth to be worth the trouble. I'd love to see the developer go through the levels of their own game, now that'd be fun; this game isn't.
5/5 great game! I don't see the problem everybody's having with the controls, it's dead simple. My only gripe is the scrolling maps - it's annoying, I'd rather have a larger play area.
@KingCrab: Fill the critter is about the gadget that is charged when you hit enemies but you don't get hit. Just equip the gadget and it'll happen by itself.
The level 22 (outpost) challenge (kill 2 enemies with all weapons) actually means "With each weapon, kill at least 2 enemies".
Don't bother with challenges that are too hard for you; leave them for the end... all will be very easy then.
Spoiler:
Get the perks that upgrade the positive effects of the gadgets as soon as you can and then the "Active Barrier" will last for 0.66 seconds and heal you a good amount. You keep 'S' pressed for the whole duration of the battles and, together with the "restore health on kill" perk, you're pretty much invulnerable.
So glad it's over!
I needed the 500 badge for the "Best of 2007" quest: Got a bow & an axe of sacrifice (50-350 dmg) and got the strong hit while sieging my 3rd town.
