@davidgoad "established feature touted and re-touted as a bug" If it looks like a cat and meows like a cat, you can call it a dog but it's still a cat. And as you justified in your comment, you downvote those not because you disagree, but because you don't like em coming. And noone can blame people keep asking about it because there isn't any explanation neither in the game nor in description or the head of top comments. An "established" bad feature is still bad. There were many other things "estblished" in some places and times (like slavery and cannibalism) which wasn't so great. The only thing that will stop people commenting about it is either devs make things logical or devs make a clear statement in game or description about how they care about every players's opinion but not in this case, because this is their little precious genious idea and that's how they see the world and not even the fact that 90% players hate it (and the rest hate it too but won't admit) it can change it.
@davidgoad The world is not black & white and while I think that developers of this game and their engagement with players are great, I don't think that that makes them saints and we should just praise their bad design decisions as OMG GREAT ones just solely on that. And my comment was mostly targeted not at the devs but at those commentators who (I am 100% sure) don't like the price issues themselves but still are blindly slapping minuses on the all comments regarding that and shouting: "Shut up! Our praised and beloved developers made this decisions and you shouldn't doubt it! It's heresy!" instead of just saying maybe "Well... developers are great, sure, but I kinda don't like this thing too, can you at least consider changing it?" :)
Hey, you mindless hamsters who can't think independently and who just repeat what one or two people said! Just stop minusing all the comments about price of newspapers etc. being higher than the price of oil rigs. Regardless of it was done by purpose or not, it's just stupid. If you want diminishing returns - make every next purchase bring you less money or make the price multiplier higher for everything, but please, make it consistent and not confusing! Seeing newspaper cost THOUSANDS times more than the oil rig just makes me want to declare both people who designed this and who likes and approves this fools and leave this game forever :)
Will you do something about prices? At 300 of each business or even earlier, the initially cheaper ones suddenly begin to cost WAY more than initially expensive ones. Just look what is at 400 businesses:

a car wash costs 4000 times an oil company.
Hello, my original game can resize itself to fit any screen, with a penalty to graphic quality, but Kongregate system does not support that, so I keep the original 1280x720 for best graphic quality.
My game is 1280x720, which I make for all modern smart-phone... but nah, I'm getting lazy for any mobile version.
That would be an amazing game if there were no time limits. Every level after couple of first ones is FILLED with time limits. I may be mistaken but I am sure that in strategy games, almost no one likes to do things in a hurry. It's a strategy! I want to plan and to think and to grow, not to run across the map and have no time to build my base!
My bad. This is the first strategy game I developed. In the past, I always wanted to make action-shooter games, so I think that influenced some of the more faster-paced maps. On retrospect, I never did think of playing the map in a more relaxed gameplay, which is kinda dumb really, considering it's supposed to be a strategy game. Thanks for pointing that out though.
@Sephirothfan Where should I learn that from? Show me a single word in the description about this possibility. Anyway, time limiting of any kind ruins all the impression of any game, whether you are allowed to play in the sandbox (with no further goal) after deadline or not.
Keyboard-only controls are kinda lame. It's fine for the drilling part, but it totally freaks me out in the shop. Also, no need to invent X and C when everyone already got Enter for confirm and Escape for cancel.
