To be honest, I love it and I don't know why. Graphics are very simplistic, it's not really complicated and, as it was stated before, very luck based. But that doesn't change the fact, that I play it once again, this time having enemy at gates and defending desperately. And, boy, the feeling when with few surge strikes you shove them back... priceless.
I really liked it. And not only the game, but also the impact it got on player. Company of Myself was extraordinary and now, when we've got to play as Kathryn, everyone got that "But he didn't kill her, right? Sure he didn't. Come on, he couldn't" attitude. You've made me watch the same story from different perspective and some how made me shocked that there's still no happy ending.
It would be interesting if launching the ship would give some continuation. I mean, the play again would set you on the planetoid they landed. Maybe only different colour, maybe faster production, maybe more spaces? Something like this.
That'd be awesome, right?
It was in the original plan :). Launch a ship, and then you'd have a new planet (bigger/smaller, more/less building spots, different colors) and the game basically restarts. Or alternatively could switch between planets.
Even if sometimes the same guy accuses me of being assassin only to defend me when someone says same thing... this game is awesome! I love playing variation of this with my friends and I definitely enjoyed playing it with computer.
That was... unusual experience. Provoke some questions. Like, you know, "what kind of man am I, if I'm always slaughtering them despite of effort I make not to?"
"Admiral, Earth Defence Laser Stations are operational! Shall we man them?" "What for? I don't expect three enormous alien motherships pop out of nowhere"
Ah, found funny thing. Around turn 135 the thing at the bottom got stuck between the rounds markers. That way I've missed level ups and respawns. Death happened normally, but also appeared between them.
Okay, with -2HP for destroying pads berserker rage is a suicide without jump active. Game gets much easier with rogue, still don't know what's with wizard. Graphics are nice, but, as it was stated, the game lacks of some story, innovation. Actually, it just divides the set of abilities. Also, they sometimes seem not to work even if I choose them, the attack performed is standard. Anyway, if someone missed Bloody Fun Day, it's fun, if not, it's decent at least.
Simple yet entertaining. Almost each level presented a slightly different task then previous, music, although a bit repetitive, don't have time to get boring with all those screaming and firing, artwork make the ships looking great. If anything disappointing, the flounder joke was a bit crude. Still, had a great time and would gladly return to ze Pirate Hideout and itz keeper.
It's nothing special and more like puzzle game, than strategy, to be honest. But still, graphics are simple and nice, sounds aren't annoying and the song is catchy. Not bad, solid 3/5, could be better if you'd add some diversity, choosing number of colours or size of field.
Just loved the first one and this one has everything I lacked there (even though I didn't even realise I lacked them back then ;]). Gorgeous game, instantly 5/5.
I've played it for a bit and I still don't know why. Game lacks in information, I don't know why some upgrades can't be made, I don't know what is the range of my units, I don't know why I suddenly am able to produce more types of soldiers, I don't know if houses speed up healing or not... Also, as Vievioora said, sound isn't the strong side and on top of that, there is almost non-existing story. That being said, I like the graphics, they're smooth and nice, altough some units seems to get stuck on map - not very often - while they die. The game itself is also good, strategies with so complex control over your hero don't happen often. At first it looks like yet another one EW clone, but then it reveals some unique features. I'd like to see some improvement and maybe more heroes to choose from, but it's quite good already.
To be honest, the game wouldn't be so bad, if not the bugs. The routes between the planets can be ignored by your troops, but it seems that game freezes when AI tries the same trick. With some more work put in it, this could be great, as you've got everything for the average four rating - the oldschool looking classic kind of strategy with some twists. Won't say I would love to see planets boosting attack, defence and so on, will say I would love to see fixes.
