I use a spear/sword combo using mostly swordmen it works well because if you have 5 miners out you can create swordmen at a constant rate and the you can control a few spearmen to absorb damage from archers
My most succesful attempt at the doomed heroes Badge was this...
Warrior: Abilities: defiance, resolve, cleave, bloodlust and inspire.
Conjuorer: Abilities: Call soul, eldiritch Aegis, Wargolem and the two sprites.
mage: Abilities: freeze, fireball, powersiphone, electrical storm, and flickering flames.
ranger: Abilities: Pierce, Natures balm, hail of arrows, envenomed arrow and focus.
Basically I gave evefryone all the buffs and used the warrior to block most combat damage. Also summoning wargolems with the conjourer also helped along with being ale to revive units.
the reason that the game doesn't save is because the engine is adapted to flash player ten psuedo has fixed this problem and will release the fixed version along with mardek three in september
