@propane_mailbox RE: "I'm not going to wander around a map that's already uncovered with no indicator of where I have and haven't checked." The colors of the tiles change when you've been over them. It's subtle, though, but it only takes about 60 seconds to retread every square on the map.
Good game, good difficulty. At no point was it too frustrating or challenging to figure out what to do, and I didn't even realize there was a tutorial until after I beat it. Less than 30 minutes for a first go without any ragequitting. Totally fine game. Could stand to be a bit longer for a better rating, but good stuff.
If you're going to develop and publish a game like this, I need to be able to see in the first 30 seconds of gameplay that your game is somehow more worth playing than the seemingly unlimited number of other games exactly like this, and I don't see anything new at all here. Oh look, the same badges I did on 6 other games. Thanks. >:(
I found two bugs in the game that are illustrated in this picture: http://imgur.com/GnMoo
First, I was able to get two keys to the sky place through a malfunction in the trade center where instead of taking my item and swapping it (I was trying to use the bowling ball), it instead put an extra key there. I then was able to trade the bowling ball for the second key. Second, when riding up the elevator to the sky place without yet doing all the costume business, if you repeatedly click the stairs, you'll go up rather than back down. You can see in the picture that I still have the bear and have not completed the bear quest, but around the border of the image you can see the tents in the sky place.
I bought the premium content for 2 main reasons. 1) The game is perfectly good and without the content. The devs made a great game, and after the fact were like, "and if you liked it enough, we'll throw you some extras". 2) It's a rare occasion to see reasonably priced premium content. Thank you Iron Hide Games for not being money grubbing tools.
I've encountered an issue a couple of times where (sometimes) shooting as I'm collecting a star won't collect the star, and the star will just stick in place. If I restart the level, it's fine, but it can ruin an otherwise perfect run.
I appreciate that you can return to any section of the level before finishing it. I also appreciate all the arrows that help you figure out which path heads to the end and which path heads to the bonuses. The developer was really considerate of the players, and that's a nice change of pace.
First thing I did was click the sheep to see if it would explode. <3
Very well made game. A lot of polish went into this. I was surprised that even each soldier was selectable and had a name and everything. 5/5
I really liked the game, and it was pretty fun. Some disappointing things I found were 1) How linear it was. I was hoping that if I took the sister back to the mom something would happen. 2) So many one way sections made exploration painful. Maybe that was your goal? 3) If sis is in a tunnel when you switch characters, she stands up. That doesn't make sense. 4) If sis is only waist deep in water (standing in 1 block deep of water) she can drown. That doesn't make sense. 5) Even on the lowest quality, I couldn't get a really decent frame rate (OS X 10.5.8, Chrome 15.0.874.121). Maybe there are some optimizations that could be made. 6) You can break through the blocks at the end and still get the end dialog, also. Which is weird. If you go back in, the end dialog starts over. 7) Double tap delay isn't responsive enough for me (maybe due to frame rate). Overall a pretty good game, though.
Ah, thanks for catching that - it's something left over from testing that I forgot to remove. Will publish an update in the next day or so with that, and some other issues, fixed. Might help the lag as well. Thanks again
Haha, guess I missed a few :)
