Wow. Consider this something of a rave review, but I really think you have a knack for rhythm games, DZ. I'd love to see future musically-inclined submissions from you! :D Great work on this, definitely.
It's great, yes. *nods* But there's a big problem that I think a lot of people have, at the very least, tried to exploit, and that's moving diagonally so perfectly that the orb "skips" a move. I don't know if it was intended, but it seemed like it wasn't. Anyway, other than that, it's a great game--and I love the ambiance created.
I'm sorry, Starburst. It was a really good attempt, but it's missing way too much for me to consider this acceptable. Eighth/sixteenth notes, slurs, dynamics...way too much basic music was left out. There's still a whole lot to improve on, really.
A second play through this game showed me one more flaw--when you click on the sound button, it still considers that a regular click of the mouse. x-x; Doesn't exactly work so well that way, yenaw.
I'm bored...you know what? It's one of the better typing games out there, but it's still not hard enough. Your psychotic isn't psychotic enough at all...make it so it stops using three letter words, so that the words move faster...then we'll see. Oh, also, longer words would also be appreciated. Anyway, other than that, it's still a lot more interesting than most other typing games out there. For it's genre, good submission.
You know...I really didn't like it all so much...see, there wasn't enough of a challenge for me. You know, make it so you have to match three orbs or something--then it becomes interesting, because you have a lot more combinations that you can pull off. The system didn't seem precise enough, either, and the controls seemed to lag just enough to make what would normally be accurate shots off by just a little bit.
Since there was no timer, the challenge of other games that are similar was removed as well. I'm not so sure about the music, either. It didn't exactly hit me as fitting to a game such as this.
All in all, it was okay for me, but nothing more. I'd still prefer other games such as Bust a Move or something, that allow for more precise gameplay with a little more challenge and extras.
Oh my god...xD
Oh.
My.
God.
xD
Just wonderful. I've played this game like...quite some time ago and loved it the first time...but...yenaw what?
It really is, I think, the environment created. The music is great...and just the incessant tapping of the tangerines makes it flawless in my mind.
I mean, fine, it's a short, simple dodging game, but it doesn't mean that it's bad. It certainly does what games should do, in my eyes...entertain the player. And my word is this game entertaining.
((Plus, the comments are pretty funny too. XD))
I hate arguing...but really...this time...
Come on, guys. Do you honestly believe that there's much skill involved with this game? Half the time, you're dealt cards you can't play anyway. I mean...you've a choice of perhaps two to four cards a turn, and one or two of them are probably pathetic cards that'll mean nothing such as the lowest fence builder, or the Base/Knight/etc. cards. No cards really seriously play off of each other, and the game is so leaning towards the side of destroying the opponent's castle that building your own really doesn't make that much of a difference as long as you have a strong fence or something. What skill is involved is minimal at best, I'd honestly say. When the cards start to affect each other, then we'll talk. Until then, though...
I...don't like how you used Pacman. It doesn't play like a traditional Pac game at all...I was thinking way more...Frogger, really.
And the ending was just a bit off. I don't know, I didn't much enjoy it.
((Oh hush, CrazyGirl. [[Love ya~!]] xD DTD was the game that got me hooked to Kong in the first place--of course I'm going to have much commentary if it comes with a release. ^-~))
In fact...one more thing...I think that the ink towers could've been made just a little bit cheaper. They were hard to come by in the earlier levels of the game. Cheaper with less damage, in fact, might have been best. Don't know what Preecep wants to do with it...but...*shrugs*
And since the comment box seems to consider things in "-"s as crossed out things...
The following is what was dashed out:
First comment: ...and that was the uselessness of the Bash towers. I always have an issue with games where there are things about them that are simply not helpful...
Second comment: ...but I would’ve preferred having ink towers as ones that shoot no matter what, leaving behind some residue that creeps simply walk over, getting hurt. Seems to me that it would’ve given them a much more interesting use...
The new graphics are okay...but I personally preferred DTD 1's more. Perhaps it would be possible to make an option to revert back to those graphics? Not sure what's in store for DTD, but I'd really like to play future versions without the new graphics. ((No offense. Again, it's just personal taste.))
Anyway...all in all, I really liked this release. If some of the originality of the previous one could have been kept, I would've been a little happier...but I'm still giving it a 5/5 and adding it to my favorites. So with this, I say...another great release, and I send this with my gratitude.
The added voices were fun. I kinda wish that they were a little more high-pitched like in the original, but hey...more voices, more interesting, I suppose.
The added strategy of maze-building with the boost towers should prove change many old strategies, making this a definite sign of improvement...but what I didn't like was how the Ink towers essentially HAD to be used. I know in the last game, the swarm towers were basically essential too, but it was always possible to destroy flying creeps without them. It may just be a personal taste issue, but I just didn't like how the Ink towers were absolutely necessary. I don't know if the developers would be looking to do this--but I would've preferred having ink towers as ones that shoot no matter what, leaving behind some residue that creeps simply walk over, getting hurt. Seems to me that it would've given them a much more interesting use--especially when it came to maze building.
I don't think the comment box is letting me post all that I want to say...so...it'll be broken up. Sorry for this.
((Because I like to read previous comments, I'll say this much in reference to much older comments made--although this could be seen as an update, DTD 1.5 has many differences that I am certain some players will dislike when compared to the original. Having 1.5 as its own release would allow those players the ability to play DTD 1 without having to go through whatever it is they didn't like about 1.5.))
Now. This update, as far as I could tell, really helped with one of my biggest issues with DTD 1--and that was the uselessness of the Bash towers. I always have an issue with games where there are things about them that are simply not helpful--and in the original DTD, I thought that the Bash towers were one such example.
Sorry for the double post...but after a little bit of testing...
It's not from quitting then restarting...but rather dying then restarting. But I'm still checking things out...it seems more random than anything. If anyone wants to shed some light on it...feel free~
Hm...something I think I ended up stumbling upon...
There's some sort of bug that messes the scores around with the challenge mode. I think it happens when you quit the challenge mode then re-enter it. It stops giving you scores for individual targets, but still gives you scores for whole objects completed. I sent a bug report in, but I think it was without some information...and I'm still not 100% positive if that's how you trigger it.
Anyway...just an fyi for all of you out there~
You know, I really, really liked this. There're a lot of "rhythm" games out there, but this is one that I think really uses the beat to its advantage. I wouldn't have minded breaking away from the loop--or making it a little bit longer...but I thought that it was very well made.
Really, another thing is how people in previous reviews noted improving it by adding extra colors/et al...but it's really based upon opinion. I personally loved the simplicity.
Thanks for another great release!
It was...okay. It's a definite improvement over the first Bounce...but I would've still enjoyed a little bit more from it. The lines made needed to be just a bit more precise. Also, I think it needs something to make it unique--there're a lot out there so similar to this that it makes this a bit boring. Otherwise, there's not really much I can say.
I'm sitting here, listening to my turrets fending off everyone else.
Yeeaap. I lost my interest.
I mean, it was a great game, but...it killed me when I realized that the laser just seriously needed to be improved. The chain gun ended up being my best, honestly...and after filling up the screen with nothing but chain gun turrets while having your own...it got boring. Fast.
Other than that, it was a good, solid game. Nothing really to say, other than to maybe make the chain gun not as powerful...or to make the laser more powerful. Either way, it's only balancing.
Ah yes...just a quick question to everyone...has anyone beaten the 100 yet? Honestly, I think that it could be the only possible flaw to the game for being so unbeatable...I've given it a good number of times through...getting to about level 80 or so before I die. Anyone actually finish?
