You know...just a second comment after a revisit...last time, I gave it a seriously positive review, but I found one major flaw in this game.
...when there's no one to play. If possible, I think that computer opponents might be good to fill in extra spaces as an optional component.
The only real main reason I didn't give this a perfect score was because of the lack of story and lack of completion. I know it's just the first world, and I know that it'll take a lot of time to do following worlds...I can't give an incomplete submission a perfect score. A good and well high score, though...it seemed quite flawless. I really didn't think that there was anything that needed to be changed...except as I mentioned earlier...a storyline would be well appreciated. Even if it's just a basic one. ^^ Otherwise, nice submission.
You know? I hate to agree with some of the people here, but yeah...those people who rated it down...really, were you playing the same game? Or, rather, did you even give it a try? Sure, it was a bit of a large game, but it was definitely worth it. I loved how amazingly detailed it was. Nice release!
My god. *laughs* This. Was. The. Best. Game. Ever. Evaaaar!!!
Well yeah. Obviously it was a gag, but hey. If it can keep me interested in it for a good five minutes...good work! Definitely better than Fancy Pants, anyway.
I really think that there's too much based upon luck in this game. There really aren't any combinations you can do with the cards, and though it'll be an average distraction, there just isn't enough substance to really consider it a higher-ranked game.
It was certainly a grand idea, I won't deny...but I wouldn't have minded perhaps just a little bit more of a learning curve-typed game. It seemed to just press you straight into what the entire game would be without any introduction or otherwise. ((Plus, the learning curve, I think, would make it a little bit less stale.)) I agree entirely with Paigoddess' idea of the log for new potions. A bestiary-like thing, really, would also be helpful. Ultimately, though, I think it would've been best to do something like...start out with one or two potions, then give the player the option to upgrade with a third potion, and possibly even a fourth potion to make the game even more interesting. Some side things for me was the lack of music and the fairly short field ((Like...what I mean is the area in which the monsters walk up to the wall.)) Other than that, though, it was a novel idea. Gratitude to Ninjakiwi for another great release!
Oh man...it's a good platformer if I've ever seen one...I loved the simplicity combined with the classic TrueDarkness artwork. ((Or whoever makes the art for your games, anyway.)) The only complaint I have, really, is that every so often, my stupid old computer just makes things choppy. Perhaps in future games, options to take out even more of the graphic quality or something similar could be entertained? Other than that, though, this was just great. A good, solid game for sure.
Wow. So I got to level 9 with 496 bubble thingies popped. Does this end?
Anyway...whether or not it does...it was certainly an okay idea. I mean...it's been done before, and done to a more fuller and better extent. I did like the colors/sounds, though...the seemingly random notes made for interesting popping. I think that some other options or some change in gameplay--curved paths, powerups, or the like--would make this a better game overall.
273...finally...
It's difficult, yes, but honestly, it is a good game. A pause button would have been nice--I can't tell you the number of times people have instant messaged me while I was in the middle of it. Same with people calling or people yelling at me. Other than that, though, a good game in general.
Crack is right...but this was really fun. The multiple shot ability was really helpful, I found, but in the end, I think that the gameplay was a bit irritating. All in all, though, a good game.
Wow. It's a hit or miss game for sure...and it definitely hit with me. I loved how simple, yet addicting it is...but I don't think I'll be going for the perfect score. *wink* Anyway, it was definitely a good way to kill time for a little bit.
Agh. Don't mean to double-post, but one last thing that I think tons of platformers nowadays need--it's great how you made the music continue through deaths. It really helps the flow of playing, in my opinion.
UWAA!!! MY WORD! This is perhaps exactly what I've been looking for in the past few months! I haven't beaten it yet, but I can already say that this is a 5/5 for me. It's so classic, yet wonderfully enticing. Given, it's a bit of a small screen, but you have a story, wonderful gameplay, and music that I found myself humming to even in the earlier levels when I had only heard the entire song once or twice. It was just great. Thank you for this submission!
For some reason, I couldn't help but find that this was incredibly fun, despite the fact that there're tons of these out there. It had a certain style to it, though, that just made it so much better.
You know, I thought it was pretty good. Like many people before me said, the art was absolutely wonderful. More upgrades could've been better placed, though, and the jump's reaction time was a bit off. If there was a way to increase stamina, that would've been nice as well. Other than that, this was great.
Yenaw, I'm really not sure I can agree with many of the previous posters...I liked it, sure...but there're tons of games out there that're similar. In fact...very similar. ...in fact, the exact same game, except with different art. It's not exactly unique, but in the end, it does what it has to do. I did like, though, how the penalty didn't kill you off, though.
I dunno...I didn't like it all so much. It really seemed somewhat boring to me. Maybe with a little bit more extras involved it would be otherwise, but as it is, it feels very incomplete.
