I really like the idea and mechanics of the game, and I would really like to see a bigger game made from this! One thing I would work on though is the jumping, it seemed a bit stiff.
I really love the idea you got going here! Many others have made good suggestions, so I'm just gonna add some comments I haven't really seen. These would be small things that don't effect gameplay as much as it does the atmosphere.
I highly recommend some sort of music in the bg on the pixel screens. I would suggest the themes for the different games, but I'm pretty sure a bunch are still under copyright, so that sorta blows. Luckily, peeps love to make free to use retro game music, so I would just look about.
A way to switch the color of the bg would be cool as well. It would help to see colors that may seem closer together in hue, and lets players choose the most "soothing" colors for their eyes.
Also, and this is just a silly thing, it would be neat for the tv to be interactive..like touch the dial and it switches commercials.
Great work so far though, keep it up.
I want so much more to the story, I got so invested in the characters in such a short amount of time. Excellent work!! I look forward to any future games/stories you have!
This is actually really enjoyable. I'm really tired of these idle games but this seems like its adding a little more dynamic to it. Adds more strategy. Not to mention I am a bit of a sucker for anime dating games. Once you get this more balanced out, taking some advice from the top comments, you're gonna have a pretty good game here!
