It's sad to see such a game with great potential but poor execution. Leveling up becomes tedious, it would be a lot better if you didn't have to watch the exp and skill points you get count up every time after a battle or training, the enemy dodge rate is beyond an inconvenience, to the point using high power moves early on is not worth it. The encounters with other monster trainers is skewed compared to the rest of the monsters you fight, they give a lot of exp and a ton of money for incredibly easy opponents. By the end of the game its easy to have such a power that the end game cups are laughable, one shotting the LittleGiant cup opponent for example. Its also strange how maxing agility actually lowers its effectiveness. I wish I could give it more than a 2/5
I hate to echo those before me but 99% of items are entirely useless. Most will never compare to what you can craft and to sell it for gold is pointless since gold is also worthless. Crafting is annoying because you use precious resources to most likely fail in crafting an item and barely increase your chance to successfully craft the next item. Also the percentage to hit I feel can't be accurate, to often I have a 95% chance and I end up missing 2-3 times in a row.
The game is extremely long and very repetitive, its nice but it just looses its oomph after a while and could use a few things. A hot key for mute and pause would be good. A huge thing would be a skill reset, I don't want to have to restart the entire game just to see what being more magic oriented would be like. And as a message to kong, this is a terrible idea for a badge, I've grinded most of the day and I'm still not even close to getting it, there's just simply no way to do it if you're starting fresh.
Here's a tip for survival, bandits and monsters (Spiders, wasps, etc.) will still fight and kill each other and leave behind gold. Near the end of my game I got pincered in but darted my cavalry out, leaving behind a bloody battle of bandits and wasps, it probably got me an extra 100 added to my score.
Excellent game, a few things however. It drags on after a little while, if there were badges for completion I'd gladly finish it. Also using your special (not sure if its the same for others) all of the survivors stop following me and needing to pick them up again is simply a chore to the point I don't use the space bar.
This game is Warhammer 40k meets a flash game, space marines Vs tyranids, I just wish I could be the aliens haha. Well put together combat system that challenges one to think about how to best make a fighting retreat considering defense, offense, line of sight and much more than other games even brush on.
