I got to 1.7x on the last level, but it gets really impractical. You have to memorize the beat, you *cannot* look at the display when going that fast. The display seems a bit weird at higher speeds, even when calibrated (and I was top dollar cream, even!), but if you go to the beat it mostly seems OK. Use two different letter keys on the keyboard, one for each hand, and you're all good!
DEVS: I tested the money increase rates on and offline, and it definitely makes more money offline. My theory is that the lemonade stands (at least) end up technically making money faster than the application can display, so the money ends up accumulating at the top speed of the display. If you go offline, it accumulates at the "real" speed, which is WAY faster. Maybe you should put the display routines and the money making routines on separate threads, so that the money works the same on or offline. Either that, or there is a huge, huge bonus to not being on the app. Just thought you might want to know for next update.
1) Everything that hurts you is purple. 2) Prioritize upgrading Dark Arts and Drain first, so you can shoot things and regain plenty of fuel. 3) If you are having trouble with the second mini-boss, cast Saws and get right in his face, he will die fast. 4) Earn Money achievements count how much money you *collect*, not earn. (DEV: You should call that achievement Collect X coins.) 5) WASD-style controls would be nice. 6) Not fair that you have to unlock the dudes in order, maybe I just want to have either life or fuel, and not the other ones...or maybe you wanted it to be that way.
I didn't think the difficulty was really as bad as the comments made it out to be. All in all, a fun game.
UPDATE: WASD controls added.
Hi, thanks for your comment! I am fixing the Earn/Collect issue. WASD controls are scheduled for the next update. About the dude shop: yeah I just wanted it to be that way :)
When you click out and the game auto-pauses, clicking back in automatically does an action. This should be fixed, it can crucially mess up your game. Other than that, this game is sweeeet.
I can't play this game. The graphics/gameplay are too detailed...my computer skips/lags when the action gets too intense, just when I need it to be smooth so that I can react quickly. Unfortunately, there is no option to reduce the quality so that my computer can properly play it. However, it is beautiful and awesome so I still like it. Good job!
The reason why ivod said to use 8 cannons and 1 rocket is because the game only fires one rocket launcher per enemy. For waves of enemies, you will fire all rockets. The boss counts as one enemy, so only one rocket launcher fires, therefore you get more damage by using 8 cannons.
If you add up all of the numbers on the field at the beginning (subtract for negatives of course), you can figure out what goes in multiplication. For example, you add up all of the numbers and it comes to 58. There is a x2. It needs to add up to a multiple of 10 to be completable, so you need 2 more points. Therefore, a 2 has to go in the multiplication. Now you can figure it out before you start, instead of going through the whole thing only to find at the end that you put the wrong number in the multiplication box.
That's a solid solution dreamaddict! However as a slight alternative, you can also "clean up" some of the easy 10s until you're left with a smaller set of numbers to look at - say four or five different one's and then add those up to work it out by the same method (or even a little bit of trial and error at the end with the undo).
