gameinabottle, to answer your question: YES, I am still playing GemCraft in 2019. I own everything you have put out on flash and Steam and want more. There are no other tower defense games that come close to these. I hope you've had enough interest to move forward with your plans.
This felt like Putt Putt meets a Grow game. I loved it, and was not expecting to. 5/5, with one suggestion - as others have mentioned, zooming in would be nice!
I like this game very much. I'm with other commenters - not having a tutorial but still having a clear objective is way more fun than trying to get past several overly easy and annoying tutorial levels. You made it clear while still providing just the right level of difficulty for the learning curve. Well done!
So, so good. I just noticed that you DID get a badge and came back to replay for the badge. Forgot how hard and great the last level was! Love it on my phone, too.
I know this is an older game, but it's one of my all-time favs. I can no longer save it on my Mac - every time I leave and come back I am starting over from scratch. Any suggestions? Anyone know a workaround to make Flash work like it's supposed to on OSX High Sierra?
The Gemcraft games are STILL among my favorites and I return to them again and again. There is just nothing else out there in tower defense that even comes close.
This game is surprisingly fun! Good job. Please consider adding some badges, maybe for finishing areas or finding specific combinations of items. Whatever you think - it just would really lend itself to badges.

I'm a little confused by the badge of the day today. It said I needed 4 more, so I went in and cleared another entire wave and now it says I need 6 more. Is there a bug?
I commented the other day and then purchased the iOS version. I was pleased to find it had more as well as different levels. It's so unusual for a game to surprise me, I laughed out loud several times just for the sheer joy of it. Excellent, well done! (and still think you should add badges here)
I've been looking at this on iOS and will definitely be getting it now. Super job! Very well designed and thought-out. This is exactly the kind of game I want in the puzzle genre. Hope we see more! (also, I second the request for badges)
