What's going to die first: the enemy or my J key? Some enemies just have way too much HP. Even with a stronger weapon, it takes like ten hits at least sometimes, and all they do is slowly shamble towards you, get swatted back, and repeat. Gets a little tedious. Overall, it feels more like a foundation or a prototype of an RPG; just testing monsters and NPC/quests to make sure it all works before putting the real content in. It just lacks personality at the moment. The maps themselves are decent, though. Some more puzzles, treasures, and other stuff out in the field would be a huge improvement.

The second objective for the Hard Badge should say LAND on Mars, not reach. I felt a little foolish, since I got to (aka "reached") Mars twice before I realized I'm supposed to actually land on the surface, not simply get to its screen/atmosphere. Part of what threw me off is that in the cutscene, it shows me headings towards the planet, but when play resumes, I'm moving in the opposite direction, away from Mars and towards space.

I feel I would enjoy this game vastly more with an option for keyboard control. Why in the world would you have moving, blocking, and special attacks all on a single button? It just feels awkward to me. Also, giving us Continues but putting us at a sliver of health so we die almost immediately again... really? Finally, I fully support the idea of having something (like a piece of armor or stat) carry over from the last playthrough. I just died at Lv. 8 and have no desire to go through all that tedium again right now, so that feature might help some.

The last potion upgrade basically just changes your attack from a single target to a small area attack? That's kind of disappointing considering it's 200k. Judging from the description (hot sauce), I thought it would be some sort of rocket boost. That would've been nice for the hard badge.

This looks to be quite heavily influenced by the Forest/Ice/Light Temple games on here: the simultaneous controlling, switch mechanics, and even the shapes within each level. Not that that's a bad thing; I enjoyed those games a lot. Dog feels a little too slow, otherwise fine. Did have some lag here and there, but I don't know how easily that can be fixed.

An update to my previous post: The exp needed for 30 was 300k~. For 31, it's 420k~. I just read on this game's official forum that to go up one level from 35 to 36 requires... 2.5 million exp. Another post said they needed 5.5 million to go from 37 to 38. The update says the exp curve past 28 is smoother, but does that affect only the exp monsters give? Or does it also lower the monstrous requirements later on? This is simply too insane otherwise.

Wow um, the exp curve gets ridiculously steep. I think for Lv. 29 it was around 220k and then it jumps up to over 300k for Lv. 30? Three hundred thousand. And I imagine it'll only get exponentially higher with each level. On average you'll get 10k+ for a good level (that's with the Boost). How many millions is this going to end up being? Repeating the same areas dozens and dozens of times *per level*. I know you want to keep people playing and all, but how long are you expecting them to do this? The rest of their lives?

For those having difficulty with the absurd Fast challenge on level 12, I used the TARDIO. The trick is to "skid" along the bends in the track, which allows you to bounce around the course without having to slow down at the sharper curves. I tried to make a "rounded rectangle" path when I was going for it. It may take a few tries, since I had like two or so seconds left to land on the flag when it appeared.

I appreciate that the walkthrough video will have its time set to show the level from where you had originally clicked it. Annoying have to jump around in a video bit by bit sometimes scanning for the exact level you're at. More games ought to incorporate this.

A nice little puzzler. Not hard enough to where I got frustrated, but I didn't breeze through without some thinking. Interesting to know that only the front of enemies can kill you; you can jump on them, have them land on you, or touch their back and be fine. A shame more of the puzzles didn't do anything with that. One suggestion: while you can restart with "R," you can't do so when you're at the menu after you die and you have to switch to the mouse to do it. Would be nice to have it work there.

Games like this are the kind I hope for whenever I come to check out Kongregate. Only suggestion is to maybe have an alternative means of scrolling around to view the environment. With the arrow keys only available for movement, I have to change from keyboard to mouse for what should be a simple command, since the W/A/S/D keys strangely aren't also movement. Maybe just use those for viewing since they're right next to X/C anyway, or at least Shift+?

I'm really confused as to why didn't opt to make the crafting menu similar to the skills menu. With skills, I can just roll over the icons quickly and see what they do. Yet with equipment, I have to choose a type, choose a piece, then exit out to finally see the stats? Could've at least put the stats in place of the unnecessary text below the item name.

Gensou, were you disconnected from that Kongregate chat sidebar thing? Usually happens when you have another Kongregate game open. I think this just happened to me, as well, since I didn't get the achievement for killing the Zombie Dragon. Fortunately, you can take a screenshot for proof and send it in to get credit. The link for it appears on the Alert tab in the sidebar when you get disconnected.

The achievements are found on the Statistics screen. Either click on the Statistics tab at the bottom of your Character screen where you spend crystals, or click the icon in the lower left-hand corner, above your crystal count. I didn't notice it until I had finished story mode. Might want to make a message pointing to this feature.

Would be nice if we could tell which time trials we've done without having to enter the mine and talk to the girl. Maybe just adding a blue candy icon to the item box that appears when you stand at the level entrance.
