The fact that we have next to no real control over avoiding the spikes makes the hard badge less of a genuinely enjoyable challenge and more of a prolonged waiting game of anxiety. I kinda just sit here watching the turtle fly, wondering when the game will just decide to tell me, "You lose." I suppose it would be nearly effortless if we didn't have to deal with them, but maybe if they just drastically cut down your speed instead of just completely stopping you? Oh, and space bar for nukes. Seriously.
Maybe I'm only seeing it this way because of how annoying it is, but I seem to be getting hit by those floating spikes far, far too often. I wish the achievement for hitting 20 spikes was to have the amount of them greatly reduced. I can only imagine the frustration from hitting one as you close in on three million feet.
Huh, weird. Loaded the game a few hours later and now the achievements go through, though it seems like I had to gold a level before the last one registered. Anyone having difficulty might wanna try that. Anyway, pretty enjoyable and a big improvement over previous titles, what with the different weapons and not just "the last object now in three bite-sized chunks."
I've completed this completed (outside of the pay content) before the badges were added, yet I'm not just automatically getting them when I load like I do with other games? Don't tell me I gotta go through all that again just to get what I already got.
It'd be nice if there was a quicker way to restart. Having to hold Q for an hour and then sitting through the unskippable intro for each area is annoying when doing Time Trials. Can't be hard to just reposition the character back to his starting coordinates and reset the timer to 0. Otherwise, pretty neat game.
Huh, weird, some actions cause my game to hang for a few seconds, like killing a green enemy or droid-spawning machine (3~ seconds) or touching a save points (5~). Strangely, this doesn't happen on another PC, which I unfortunately don't always have access to. Anyone got a clue what the problem might be?
I don't get it, I've killed everything in Destroy 4 and 5 and I'm only getting Silver. I've scanned the landscape multiple times and found no other enemies, beaten them without getting damaged, beaten them fast, nothing. Gold on the first three. This is annoying.
I enjoyed it. I like that the upgrades simply unlock as I naturally progress instead of having me grind for money to buy something that turns out to be inferior to what I already had. Do you just have to blitz through the story missions to get stars for Time? I thought I went through at a good pace, but never once got even a bronze star for that. Only gripes I really have are the monotony of the more or less unchanging side missions and overall being very easy. Otherwise, good stuff.
