Boss Hints(3 and 4): Space Cube: Avoid the walls, stay center floor/ceiling, opposite the boss. It's more a battle of attrition than anything.
Moon Snail Pt. 1: Do not move, shoot. Your rainbow shots will counter his dark ones. When he fires his rainbow spheres, shield. Can be beat uninjured.
Moon Snail Pt.2: Shell (bouncing): Avoid corners at ALL costs. Applies during every part of the fight, but especially here, he WILL hit you repeatedly. (Also, never be directly above him or below him or on the walls, if you can)
Shell (shooting): His shot waves move at "less than a snail's pace". Wait to see which way they go, then just stay slightly behind the wave in front of you.
Snail: Don't be under him, he'll crush you. Ignore first shot. If you are on the ceiling or floor, it will miss. If timed right, you can jump over it, then gravity switch if needed. If he's on the ceiling be on the floor, vice-versa.
Shell (sleeping): Shield, blocks the Zs.
Hope this helps!
Great game, overall, but there are a few disappointments, namely:
1. By the time I decided to get a second plot(because I could, not due to lack of space to mine or anything), I already maxed all but one upgrade, it would have been nice to unlock more upgrades (I don't know, increased bomb AOE? increase base size further?), something to make it feel worthwhile.
2. Trees! The first half of my first plot was thankfully bare because I can't count how much money I lost to them just clearing the second half.
3. The edge, most of the time gold would bounce back from the edge but on occasion they wouldn't.
And finally, 4. A good dozen times, the gold locator map (or whatever it's called), pointed me to only "ok" areas, making me waste my good bombs, while my randomly placed poor bombs would be turning up "excellent" all over the place.
Ultimately, none of this is enough that the game could be called bad, but it really drags it down from great.
Took a little work, but I failed on level one. Great game by the way, I think this one is my favourite of the series [before it got overly complex, also, tumble :) ].
Welp, that was hard. Almost killed myself cause I didn't realise you could touch enemy ships until level 4. Despite the speed at which the game plays (slow on my computer, most of the time, dunno if that's intentional or if it was supposed to play a the faster speed it would occasionally pick for a few seconds), I found myself constantly tense, double guessing my decisions as I experienced near miss after near miss, wondering if I should risk charging though a couple shots in the hopes of avoiding a barrage. Not quite on the level of your other games, but worth playing.
"D-diagonal pieces" Cr-crack "A broken world for a broken soul? More like a broken world for a broken mind..."
Seriously beautiful game, though. Loved it, so glad I got to experience it. Gonna have to try more by you, your work is absolutely brilliant! I'll have to watch for future projects too. "Cheers! ...now where'd that brain piece go...?"
Also (sorry for double post), my compliments to the voice actress. Oh, and just one suggestion, level select would be nice, there was a level I wanted to replay, but I had to go through most of the game to get to it again (not that it's a hassle or anything).
I'll send your compliments to Emily, she did a great job. Sorry about the lack of level select - definitely too late to add one now - but I didn't want to break the pacing of the narrative.
Good game so far (only made it to the second gate), there are a few things I've noticed that could use cleaning up: If you have multiple of the same piece of equipment and equip one, they all qualify as equipped (both in your inventory and as far as the store is concerned), though you only get the bonus for one; Some things stack, some don't (I'm unsure if that's on purpose or not), so for example, if I for some incomprehensible reason, wanted 29 shanks, I could have them all in one pile, but if I wanted 29 Beetle shields, my inventory would be full at 28 and finally, though this should probably go in glitch report, using lightning right as a creature dies, freezes your character, until you use another power.
Still loving this game, but there's one thing I've noticed. Don't know if it's just on my computer, but, once in awhile my sound will cut and the game will stall. Not long enough to be annoying, just long enough to be noticeable.
Jeez, first time through the game I was all, but I don't wanna stand around looking at my pad! :( What if someone sneaks up from behind while I'm distracted!?
Thanks mate. It's definitely amateur-ish compared to the games I make now but I'm still proud of it, even if I'm one of the only people who enjoy it.
