When fighting Hermes, the goal is to tap on the sheep that are randomly appearing. When you tap on the sheep, it blasts and Hermes got hit. When you miss, Hermes kicks Perseus and your life bar goes down. You got bonus if you win the mini game. If not you just continue to run. Distance tracking stops when playing the mini game. After finishing the mini game distance tracking continues. Also, there will be some changes in the game after you win the mini game :) Check on that too!
Woah, I played this on Newgrounds. Imagine my surprise when I load it up and I've already won it on Kongregate. Thanks so much, it saved me from having to do the whole thing over again! (I mean, I love the game, but I hate having to do repeat things.)
@Hikaru, technically the statement "it's... stupidly false hard for no reasons" is false. I could be wrong, but I think the developer's reason for making the game so hard was to frustrate the player into giving up and seeing the "it's okay to lose" video, thereby providing a moral for the game. So you may not agree with the reason(s) for the difficulty, but they do exist.
Thank you so much for making this game! It really made my day! I wish I had something profound to say to repay you, but unfortunately it would probably sound pretentious, so I'll stick with the short and simple truth: this game is awesome and you presented the message awesomely. Thanks!
DO NOT SAVE IN THE "VOID" IN THE JUNGLE MAZE AND THEN LOAD IT AGAIN!!! ALL YOUR PROGRESS WILL BE LOST!!! (And then you'll spend 10 hours crying about how you were just about to face the final boss...)
Sorry again for all the comments, but I found something else. I somehow obtained the "lava burns" achievement before getting the required equipment. I don't remember how/ when but my best guess would be perhaps I got it when I randomly clicked on lava the first time. Or would it be magma, if I'm inside a cave. Do caves count as underground? My head hurts. Anyway, thanks again for the awesome game.
Oh, yeah, almost forgot. Right after I got the hammer I went to do some rock smashing. I got the "Plants Eat You" badge when when entering the jungle from the north of town, even though it was the part of the jungle that I was able to access before I got the hammer. Shouldn't you get the badge at the "official" jungle entrance?
I'm not sure if anyone mentioned this yet, but there's a bug in the Crystal Caverns. The screen with the three twisty walkways keeps dropping a full treasure chest, even if I've opened it, once I leave and re-enter the screen. Also, during the boss battle in the factory, my archer died from an attack, but then she auto countered and she was playable even though she had 0hp. Lastly, I'm in english mode, but the beastiary says "proxima pagina". I hope this helps! I'm not trying to be critical, I love the game, I'm just letting you know what I find.
I love this game and the series as a whole! My only suggestion is perhaps you could allow a menu to use healing (and/or possibly other skills) outside of battle.
I'm not sure if you already caught this already, but I think the "Forkbomb" achievement unlocks mage, not apprentice. Minor thing. I love this game! It's awesome!
I really like this game! The only thing I can recommend is some sort of additional incentive. Big games companies, with legions of writers, artists, musicians and programmers can afford to make big elaborate stories to spur the player on. Most flash game makers, however, work in smaller teams and have to make do with achievements and upgrades to keep the player going. So no matter how wonderful the game is, those who are not enlightened enough to like something for what it is may find it fulfilling.
Needless pseudo-intellectual "observations" aside, awesome game and you are awesome to hold on to your opinions!
good catch, thanks!
