I really like how the math is already done for you when you equip a modifier. You don't have to guess which is better. The label on the gun shows you the damage per minute as equipped. Change from extended magazine to ammo mod, for example, watch the number. No need for spreadsheets, calculators, or counting on your fingers! Nice feature, thanks!
Helpful tip: If the mission isn't descriptive enough for you to figure out what to do, Track the task and look at it on your task bar on the game screen. There it will tell you more about the task, such as the region it needs to be completed in. Had that problem earlier, because I'm a dummy.
I think I found a bug with the mission. Take your new survivors out for some kills. No matter who I take out, the needle doesn't move, stuck at 98/100. Is there a specific territory I'm supposed to use, or was I supposed to do this while my survivors were new enough? Not whining, trying to help the author with his game. Thanks.
Zruler, look at the bottom. There is a specific grocery list of buildings you need even if the bars are full. Enough beds is always one. There's usually one or two more you have to have.
I hate multiplayer games. Those who don't dedicate their life to the game get beat by those who do. In this game, losing a battle doesn't put your colony in an irreversible recession. You mend your fence, lose a couple cans of spaghetti-O's, and your ego gets damaged. Your troops get over it on their own. You can keep playing without seeking protection from a group that eventually boots you because you don't play 20+ hours per day. Nice balance to this game!
I think its just fine that mundane resources are scarce for no reason. It fits the theme. Frustrating, but a game with no challenges quickly becomes boring.
Now, who'll give me a box of nails for six gallons of gasoline?
I'm going to go ahead and disagree. I'm glad the manual control is gone. I found it annoying. "Wait, now I have to control the guy myself to get an optimal result? Am I hitting him? Am I standing in the right plane? I don't know. But the AI always does. Why can't the STICK soldier understand the concept of STICK and move?"
Can I offer some suggestions?
Make it more clear which upgrades “stack” and which ones replace previous ones.
Make it more clear that upgrades make you more likely to win a race. Currently, I feel like it’s a coin flip whether I get an inferior opponent or unbeatable one. Upgrades don’t seem to give me an edge.
Add a Hurst Shifter upgrade so I’m less likely to miss shifts.
Perhaps add a Dynomometer Room so I can map my horsepower curve and discover the optimum shift point.
Nice job on the game!
I like the setup of the races.
I like that if you can't buy gold coins, you're not totally shut out. You can still get to participate in things requiring gold if you log in enough times. Same thing if you blow your silver newbing around.
I like that it’s not that dependent on multiplayer systems. I’m tired of getting owned by 8 year olds who don’t have to eat/sleep/work. I like games that I can play when I feel like it, not when the game requires it.
I like the upgrade and maintenance systems.
