Let me try commenting again since my last comment was well beyond 1k chars. Let's just say I'm a little frustrated by the fact that the good people at Kong thought it was a great idea to give this game badges and even a challenge when I can't even make it through one training session without some type of glitch that forces me to reload and lose a week. Now, this game looks like it has the potential to be a good game and something I can enjoy playing, however, it seems COMPLETELY unfinished with all of the bugs and glitches that are happening. Well, looks like I'm giving it one more try.. next glitch and I'm done. So far the game is a 1/5 since having to reload every 3-4 minutes and losing data while getting skipped forward a week is rendering the game unplayable for me.
Decent game for the played-out arcade-style space shooter genre. Mostly cliche, but there's good music and decent gameplay. This game provided me with about 30 or so minutes of fun completing the actual game + challenges 1-8 (excluding 6), and about an hour - so far - of absolute 1000 suns infinity rage for challenge #6. I give this game a solid 3/5, and that would've been higher if it was any other genre (yes, I'm jaded).
@JSilvis: The game took me around 30 minutes in one sitting from the time I loaded it for the very first time, and I'm sure there were tons of people that did it faster than that. Hell, in most games I've played, I didn't save in less than 30 minute intervals anyway. I'm not saying having no save feature is a good thing since that's the reason I gave this game a 4/5, but I definitely don't believe it was a game breaker. As for your other concerns, I didn't find the game too repetitive, and I think that difficulty and sometimes a little frustration are good for puzzle games.. They're supposed to jog your mind after all.
I didn't have much of a problem with any level except Ambush, in which the planets had to align in order for me to get a gold. Still great game besides, as mentioned already, the mundane name.
I loved the game. Not so hard that it's frustrating, but hard enough to be challenging. And with a vast amount of ways to complete levels and a freeplay mode to top it off, this game definitely has replay value. My absolute only "complaint" is that there wasn't a fast-forward button for those times that I knew I had the level beat, but still had to sit there and wait for the sugar to slowly sift around. Definitely 5/5 worthy even so. I hope to see more level packs in the future!
@1000thSon You have to complete all 15 levels, but only 14 without taking damage. There are two requirements to the badge.
I gave the game a 4/5 because it took an idea as old as sin and gave me a few hours of game play (getting the hard badge included), however it was still the same ol' Space Invaders type game that you can only do so much with. There was no in-game mute button besides on the level menu, and there was no pause menu.
Nevermind, it apparently bugs out if you try to kill the crab while he is in his "pearl form". You just have to continue dodging the lasers even if it looks like it is about to die.
While the songs are funny and the music is epic, I would LOVE the option of turning the sound off. Also, I've played through this game a few times now and each time I get to the end with full lives left and he stops taking damage when he gets to a sliver of health even though I'm shooting DIRECTLY at the pearl. Any ideas on what to do?
Agree with everything Danaroth said in a previous comment. I honestly have no idea why this game is rated so high. The gameplay itself is pretty terrible and roughly the same idea as other games with hardly any uniqueness. There are no settings/options for difficulty, graphics, and sound. There is no differentiating between BGM and sound effects (personally I like to leave sound effects on with music off and I'm sure I'm not alone). There are no camera controls and often times enemies/items end up in "blind spots", though that's only a minor hassle. And lastly, no save feature or at the very least an autosave after each level. That being said, I'd love to see another game by Void implementing these features and possibly a storyline. 3/5.
@Rupee: It gives you the option to rotate the bastions in 90º increments when you click on them. Though I really wish there was a way to rotate them in 45º increments.
The game seemed to be pretty good. There was only one bug where the people went behind the wall at the inn and didn't attack me straightforward, which was in my favor. I pretty much used the bow with warder skills and passives from the melee and assassin classes (already forgot the names). Good game though. 4/5
So, I decided to give it another shot. I got to day 12 and then this happened: http://img97.imageshack.us/i/wtfbirds.png/
I seriously got bombarded by 10 birds straight which utterly destroyed my castle and there was still that many birds left. I don't know how you people do it.
Listen, I'm not that bad at games, but this game is ridiculously hard for me. I must have did something wrong somewhere because I can't even pass the 11th day. I get bombarded with 8 chickens, 8 beserking faggots, the boss, and several other things. My ridicule gets huge and doesn't go back down, etc., etc. I give up.
