Great game. Really loved to compose the songs, and see how they faired in the game. Overall it seems balanced if one uses strict harmony formulas (e.g. C, F, G chords, and any of the "white key notes"), but a bit of ... help about which note triggers which type of tower would be helpful for the strategy. 5/5 though, would play again and again given musical inspiration.
This is a great sequel to the Epic War series. It still feels like Epic War, but with a new way of hiring units and upgrading them. The heroes became more powerful and individual as well. I like that. What I don't like about thisgame (which is the reason why I can only give 4 stars) is the massive memory leak. I don't know whether the unity plugin is at fault, but after starting your game unity uses 200MB of memory, after a half hour of playing or maybe an hour, it uses 700MB!!! This is on Windows 8, Firefox 39.0 - It means I have to restart the page every once in a while. If there is any way to fix this then please look at it. Otherwise, great game.
i think this is a great game with much potential, but let me add one thing: i don't honestly know whether the skill books do anything on my raiders. Heal stuff probably belongs to the healers. But does healstreak stack? Does Full Heal stack? Does Hitstreak work on every class? It is more difficult there than with equipment, because with equipment i can just test it: put on two weapons at once, see what happens with the damage. Maybe you could add a small info somewhere whether skills stack or not?
@Skarg: Play nethack then. it has all you wish for (even permadeath). Ever heard of suspension of disbelief? It's a free game after all, emphasis on GAME. not real life. in the missions themselves the heroes are mortal alright. Just think of it as a new platoon trying again once you fail the mission. Sometimes with better equipment. And the names are placeholders. Sure, i would have loved more missions, too, but it was well worth the several hours invested into this game, and the badges provided a challenge, too. so 5/5 from me.
As someone battling occasional bouts of depression this hit quite close to home - though the concept is clearly more about somone in a coma. very nice game
The concept on this game is gold, I really like it. But as was already mentioned, the leveling system is quite ... strange, maybe even broken: If my music library consists only of Metal and Rock music, then it is quite impossible to advance, because the enemies are just too strong, and overwhelm you. Every song that has a bit of tempo immediately becomes impossible, especially if it is the first song you play. I know that you detailed this behaviour in the description, and I am well aware that this is planned, but you should maybe make it a bit easier for the first 5 or so levels.
Apart from that I really love this game, as it is a new concept and combines my two favourite things: music and games :).
tips. you can disable blood and effect.
