After playing Choppy Orc, One Trick Mage, Sleepy Knight, and Greedy Mimic, This (Sticky Sorcerer) gameplay mechanic is the most fun to me. This could easily be turned into a tag-team type of platformer between all the different characters.
This is one of the few games on kongregate, that even though I've beaten on hardcore, got all the badges, I still keep coming back and seeing what else I can find, and what all the different quests are, and what combinations I can beat the game with. The perk system of all the different dieties alone makes the game worth playing through multiple times. I appreciate that the map has "mostly" random generated terrain and a solid core group of quests like mages or ninjas, and that you are upfront that the heroes aren't the brightest bunch, lol.
New Game+ idea would be Fantastic! You have HUGE potential and great framework to expand this game world or make a sequel. 5/5!!
Hard Badge Tip: To get gold on the first 23 levels, focus on getting bronzes first, then silver in each one, and then go for gold.
Level 24.... You need most upgrades at 5. Slow the game down and keep your queues about even.
Get the garage by the helicopter first. Get 1 Heli , and get the truck upgrade, and 3 trucks to start. Restart if you don't get an order of at least 12 within 3 squares of your garage.
Focus on the largest orders for the first 4 minutes. After that, grab everything.
Garage=G, Truck=T, Helicopter=H
8 min:1G w/ 1UP,4T,2H
7min: 1G w/ 3UP,5T,5H
6min: 2G w/ 3UP,6T,8H
5 min:3G,8T,12H
4min:4G,10T,14H
3min: 4G,12T,16H, At least $9,000 in profits, Focus trucks for nearby orders, Heli's on everything else
2min:$11,000 and min 10 queues at all 4 garages
1min:$13,500, focus on the big orders
30sec:$15,000 focus on smaller orders that you can finish before time runs out. You get more & for a 6 order you finish quickly, than a 12 order you don't.
Took me 8 tries.
What helps is to think about how to eliminate a color with each turn. On levels with 4 moves, you should eliminate a color on the first turn and each turn after that. On levels with 5 moves, your first move should be a fill and make it so that your second move starts eliminating colors.
After trying a lot of configurations, I find using Marcus, the Fat Bottle, Gold Ring, and Welding Mask is consistently good. Yes, it not as much stats, but that 100% extra cannon helps. They not only hold your speed, but add to it and allow you to correct your direction and keep horizontal. I also find going full power horizontally more effective than the 45º if you're going for the hard badge. If you can get around 300,000 yards without using any of your Power shots, You're pretty much home free, because you're going to need them for 600k-700k. Hope this helps!
-Maybe on accident or on purpose, but on your cut the football game you created a splash effect. It would be neat to work with that and make multiple kinds of those using a .png or other type of transparency to make a really neat effect.
- Even from your early games, you picked on the core of games. Which I mean it gets progressively harder as you get further into the level. You actually did a really great job scaling this appropriately. But what's keeping your game from being played a lot is the game happens too fast. I can beat the whole game in under 2 minutes. You are increasing your speed by about 30% to 40% each level. Try doing around 5% - 10%. You have to find a good pace to keep people coming back and saying to themselves "Aw.. So Close, I can do better and make it further this next time around" :)
-In Ping-Pong attack, i sometimes lose the game by missing the last ball on a level, even though i have 3 lives left.
- Keep it up! Lets see what else you've got :)
I have the same comments for pretty much all of your games. First of, I appreciate that you're testing a bunch of different types of games using pretty much the same core program, trying to see what works and what doesn't. But maybe pick your best ones, so your profile isn't watered down with test games. Or make a new profile with your more polished games.
-Next up, all of your games have some visual glitches and the screen starts to get cluttered after a couple of levels. You've mostly fixed it in ping-ping attack 2, but keep working on it. By level 4, its still getting bad.
- Your level 4 and 5 text is glitched is most games and just shows up at "level" with no number.
Minor Glitch, When i beat a level and get 3 stars in it (specifically the first boss), if i go back and redo it and get less than 3 stars, it saves the new amount, so you can actually lose stars.
Some of your photos are daytime, some are night time. But that minor comment aside. Very fun little search puzzle game. I found 2 endings. Did I miss any?
Couple bugs/issues:
* when there are 2 little green enemies on the screen, the first one i click never explodes, it just dissappears.
* the levels loop pretty quickly, I guess you aren't expecting much from us :P
* when i click outside the screen, i can click on an enemy while paused and it counts for my score. you can fix this so that the first action/key stroke/mouse click i do to unpause the game doesn't count as an actual game action. which will keep people from cheating.
* still have the default pause screen, you may want to add a custom one with a couple parameters to keep people from cheating.
* high score still not working
* the timer doesn't stop immediately after the final click, so I can lose the game even though i clicked the last enemy with a couple seconds left.
* Nice job on the backgrounds, everything looks pretty smooth.
* The movements are smooth, i didn't notice any real jerking.
* Nice Job! Looking to see how your next one turns out*
- Build in objectives? You must eat __ so many waffles before you can go to the next level. Right now you can completely pass any level without touching any waffles at all. That's doesn't make for a very vengeful zombie waffle!)
- Back grounds on each level?
- The transitions to restart when you fail a level are good. (splash screen saying you died or failed)
- You may want to clean up your diagonal movement. I can see that the character is making little zig-zag movements instead of moving smoothly diagonal.
- Object collision is good, you may want to clean up collisions corners. Like i can approach from the bottom left or top left corner of another waffle or the tombstone and it activates even though I didn't actually touch it. Some of these are a pretty decent ways off.
- Updated version soon?
- When your character gets about halfway off the screen, it totally disappears forever. You may want to set overall boundaries for your levels so that players cannot exit the screen, or set up so that a condition happens when the players character leaves the screen, or set the screen to lock on the player so the screen moves and you reveal/hid objects.
- I didn't see that there was a pause/mute/volume adjust, until i clicked outside the screen. You may want to note the feature on the opening screen.
- The game automatically pauses when you click outside the screen. Depending on what genre your future games you may want to keep this function or get rid of it so that players cannot cheat extra time in sticky situations. OR, leave autopause, but it displays a blank/specific screen. Just some food for thought.
- Maybe a splash screen at the end of the each level or the start of a new one that lets me know its a new level or just a continuation of the one I was just one.
You may want to set some limits for the map so your character cannot leave the screen. Also, when I got the yellow dot, the dot moves but I cannot touch it again. You may want to add an ending to it, or after you get the dot start another, slightly harder, maze. You've got your layering and your transparencies down though.
Yes that was my mystake, but now i have exp for next games of this kind. There is only 2 endings. Thanks for comment!
