I see you're thinking about making this an idle game but I have to vote no. There are sooo many idle games right now, it seems like it's the only genre getting any attention right now. You'll just get lost in the crowd.
Interesting, pretty fun concept as usual, but I feel like these games are getting less puzzling and more painful. Like, I can't tell half the time if I'm doing it wrong or if the margin of error really is that small and I need to just keep trying over and over and over to squeeze through that ridiculously tiny gap. Also the hit box on the spikes could use it's corners rounded off. Kept stubbing my dang toes.
This game has a lot of good elements but when it comes down to it, it just falls flat in so many ways. I really appreciate the developer for listening to the comments but this feels more like an endless battle mode of a much more complicated game, rather than a full game itself.
Also, you've removed the need to pick up experience, so why even have the magnet? The HP box? I mean, okay, but it's going to be the last thing maxed out every single time.
It just needs more. More variety, more types of zombies, more ways to kill them, more game modes etc. Weapon switching? Melee attack? Grenades? Power ups? (Hey there's a way to utilize the magnet!) I don't know, but this is a good foundation for a larger game.
The creator of this series has an absolute knack for creating platformers. Seriously two of the best, most fun, old school style platformers I've played in a long time. He really doesn't need the fan service on the title screen to promote his games and as long as I have to feel like a creep every time I load up one of these games I just can't give it five stars.
Was getting frustrated at first with the difficulty but when I finally understood why I was getting the double attack and stun (block right before getting hit, think of it like a parry) I ended up beating the final boss on the first try. Very satisfying, great little game.
5/5
Definitely one of the best flash games I've ever played; easily the best of this genre and style. Ever. It really does absolutely everything right. The movement feels slow and strange at first but that makes those speed upgrades so much more satisfying. It also makes the goal of the game not simply "dodge the bullets" but mitigate as much damage as possible and move strategically. The difficulty curve is perfect and the first boss is downright scary. There isn't a lot of grinding and what little there is feels like a nice break to feel awesome for a bit before trying that level that kicked your ass again.
And to all the complaints about the mouse being tied to both movement and collecting the coins at the same time, it's intentional and it actually adds a challenge to collecting coins instead of them just being a mindless chore. It's risk vs reward to willingly walk into a bullet to grab those coins. Don't let your greed get you killed!
Very frustrating at first trying to figure out where you're supposed to go. Spent about fifteen minutes trying to find the first power up and almost gave up. Became satisfying once I finally found it and started progressing again though. Honestly it was my own fault for somehow overlooking a path to another room that was fairly obvious and once you learn what to look for the game becomes much less frustrating.
If you just want the hard badge, the Water Storm spell is completely broken and easily exploitable. The way that it works is it removes the top layer of land from the entire map. So, if you simply start each level building one higher in elevation than the PC, you can just cast it a few times and your people will be on the only land left on the map soon enough and the the enemy armies will all drown. It's a boring way to win but this game gets pretty grindy at the end and this is by far the quickest strategy to win.
Seriously though what's with the tits? It's just cringey. Also why bother trying to insert a vague story line into a 5-10 minute game?
Now that that's out of the way though, the game itself if very well balanced. Controls feel good, real smooth. Great music too, almost makes you a little disappointed when you complete a level too quickly and kind of wanted to hear the rest of the song.
Okay so after raging earlier I've worked it out a bit. It's still very luck based but if you can max out the fuel sucker upgrade and the radar by day three, you should be able to slowly hop, platform to platform, all the way to mars. Just take it slow, stare at the radar, look for purple platforms and hit as many other platforms on your way down to the purple one (to build up extra fuel)
Hope this helps!
Completely luck based. The hard badge is impossible to get without just refreshing and starting over again and again. Often on my first launch I won't even see a platform. Other times I'm bouncing around for minutes (still not enough to win in three days though) I thought hard badges were supposed to be based on skill?
Way too easy, beat it as floor 95, only needed the third gun, the jackhammer guy, and I bought the best helm but didn't have time to save for anything else before winning. Also, I never went below 97% health or so. Fun idea, but needs difficulty settings. Also, being able to hold the jump button or toggle auto jump would be really nice.
Wow, this is by far the easiest game I've ever played. I wasn't even sure if it was possible to get hit for a long time. Even when there are hundreds of bullets on screen near the end, not only is it unlikely to actually bump into one unless you're really trying to but you also get that shield bonus or the contra one almost constantly (both make you invulnerable) so it doesn't even matter. Also, try using octocat's special on any of the bosses and you'll laugh at how pathetically easy things are. I think I beat the last boss in roughly one second. I hate to sound overly negative but the game also glitches a lot for me. Just as I finish a level there's an almost 50/50 chance the game freezes and I have to refresh.
