horrid controls, horrid physics, incredibly inconsistent. 'next level' button doesn't actually take you to the next level, but instead takes you to the main menu where you then have to select the next level. 2/5, and i'm being generous.
I've now done the last ball (level 16) twice without the game acknowledging that it's correct. I guarantee it's perfect, but it just won't recognize it. I'm sure I'm going about that ball in a very convoluted manner, but it should still recognize that it's right! Rather frustrating.
You need to have the text checked by an editor. Only played to the third level and saw a few errors. For example, the first briefing tells you to click on lab.exe to start, but the 'file' you click on is actually play.exe. Some grammar and spelling issues, too.
version 2.0 - teen pop day, i was under the average price for a cd and yet every single customer walked out complaining about price. not one sale.
improvement suggestions:
- i should be able to click on any cd rack to go to the stock purchasing screen.
- i should be able to click on the register to go to the computer with pricing and marketing.
- clicking on an empty space should bring up the build screen. it's just kind of awkward having to go to the top menu every day.
- as others have mentioned, some kind of auto stock system is needed. when you go to the stock screen maybe have a 'suggested purchase' filled in based on previous sales or some number the player sets. then the player can just approve or change the order if it's a special day.
so when i buy a new store, i lose all my current stock and shelves...and if i then try to go back to the old store, all that stuff is gone. but my karma doesn't change. makes no sense. it's an interesting idea, but it needs a fair bit of polishing.
just lost 22 karma when a bunch of customers walked out on 'roots day' because i didn't have classics in stock, yet at the end of the day i still have 10 classic cds. annoying and frustrating.
One of the absolute worst games humanity has to offer, only equaled by Hide Caesar 2.
Even if you know EXACTLY what to do to beat a level, it will take countless attempts as you try to find exactly which pixel to drop a piece at, and exactly which millisecond to drop it as well for levels that require timing. There is a bit of logic to a few of the levels, but it's mostly just an exercise in frustration as you try a level over and over and over and over to get the placement just exactly correct. Then one of the pieces of coal or wood or whatever will just drop right through the cover you finally managed to get in place and touch your coin. Just a horrid, awful, inept, maddening game.
maybe i'm blind, but it really needs a level reset. the game can be frustrating enough on it's own, but it's super annoying to screw up a tower and know that you can't finish the level but have to just sit there and wait for the time to run down.
a game like this needs some kind of continue or password system. it's extremely annoying to have to re-play multiple levels just to try to pass one you're having trouble with. also, sound.
