The physics are solid, the game has few bugs, and for goodness sake people, it's fun. I wish I could build momentum a bit faster, not to make it easier, just to speed up the recovery after you miss a jump. After you stop, it feels like it takes forever to pick your speed back up. I especially liked the bonus rooms and the minigame. And NicolBolas, spite's nasty. If you hate the game fine, but don't hand out zeros without even playing it, it wrecks the rating system.
I believe your vertical speed coming out of a starslide is based on your horizontal speed going into it. Essentially hit the starslide at the shallowest angle possible to get the most height out of it. Also I think the distance you get is based off your first starslide on each lump out of the water. That's what the tail slide is for. You can use tailslide to maximize your starslide boost on each jump after you hit your first one.
While I enjoy the animations and the colors, the absurd inefficiencies of the control and the frantic pace of the level make this game overly difficult in my opinion.
HEROINTERACTIVE: If you refuse to provide any sort of lock-on targeting, PLEASE at least make the targets immune to shots that were in the air when they spawned.
