I weep for the future of gaming for those who decry the game for being "too hard" or requiring a speed up button. Have patience, it's part of the game, part of the balance. The game has a tonne of charm and is nicely balanced. If you can't occupy your mind for 5 seconds until the next wave comes, play something on second screen while you wait.
And the game is not 'too hard', it's challenging. But isn’t that why you play games? To be challenged? If you're one of those 'gamers' who like to have everything handed to them and feel powerful mowing down all the enemies then go play Plants vs. Zombies.
And finally, SUPPORT THIS GAME! Yes it has some quirks, but that's what makes it so memorable. There are so many games I've played in my life. But this is one I will remember.
A little too easy and the upgrades come too quickly making little noticeable difference. The basic game is good, and the pieces are all there, it just needs some time spend balancing it so everything feels (a) fun and (b) like it has a purpose or point. I found myself just clicking upgrade on all the towers without even thinking or checking what I was upgrading. If I had to think about it, or even better, agonize over which to upgrade, then you'd have a really good tower defense game.
Tower Defense is all about micro-management, pre-planning, upgrading and strategy. The game is a little basic at this point (with some towers being totally redundant once others are unlocked). On top of that, too many of the towers are not unique enough for me to pay attention to them. But balancing the items and gameplay that you already have in place will be enough to make this game really good.
Also, a separate button to mute music or sound effects would be good.
Just further to my previous comment re: my game save disappearing and reappearing - the only thing I can think could have caused it was logging out of one facebook account and creating a new one on the same computer. Otherwise I have no idea why this has happened.
My guess is Kongregate might have switched the save location back again. So make sure to make backups if you try to restore the save by moving the save files. You might be replacing the wrong one.
So weird, my save game disappeared last week (after 12 levels completed) so I started over again. Then over the next few days I got up to the final few levels. Then today my new save game has disappeared and my old one has returned.

I thought it so strange to lose my save, only to have it return. I wonder if my near complete game is going to turn up again later? Just as well I enjoy the game so much. I don't mind playing through again.
It seems like others are having problems too. Is there any more information I can provide to help fix this issue?
Just a note for the developer - If the premium content had more than just two new levels then I'd buy it without thinking. But by the time I'm ready to buy it (once I've finished the game) then I feel I'm a lot better at the game so figure I will only probably play those levels once or twice (unless they're huge, endless, or have a lot of waves). $5 is not much for such a great game but there are so many games out there competing for the money. If levels are hard to create then just hold back the last 3 levels that you've so generously given free. I think people get hooked on the game by about the 6th level anyway. Ideally though, just add more levels to the premium content. Thanks again for the great game.
Fantastic game. Very creative. I think speed controls would ruin the balance and epic feel of it. Better to work on game balance so it's just at the right level of difficulty where you if anything you want it to slow down. Which I think it pretty much is at.
Nice game. It's a little weird that I collect experience by jumping and collecting a power up rather then say, by shooting enemies, jumping things, or the distance I run. If you can connect gathering experience with those sorts of things and not just have it like a power-up collectable as it is, then that might make the game feel more unified.
As good and addicting as any game I've played. Now if you can just make the enemies into pigs and the towers into some wacky animated birds then you'll make yourself a million dollars.
Great game. It would be nice to be able to see the progress on your achievements. Maybe a bar that fills in across the back ground of the achievement as you get closer? (eg. 5348/10000 kills)
I'm addicted to the game and play it every day yet somehow I don't really enjoy it. I like it, but I never walk away feeling good about my time spent playing. There's something about the way you have to adjust the challenge to suit yourself that makes finishing levels feel unsatisfying. I prefer a tower defence game where the designer has set me a challenge not one I have to create myself.
Love this game but for a level pack these levels seem way too easy. It feels like not as much time was spent on the balance this time (the original required you to alter your strategy for each level).
Perhaps some harder enemies, or bigger waves would help stop players completing the game well before they got all the skill rewards? Then you would need the skills to pass certain levels and would keep trying to build experience to beat those harder enemies/waves. All the time experimenting with new strategies to see if you could do it before you got all skills.
Overall I think the game just needed some more play testing to adjust the balance.
Also some new enemies, to throw those players who learned from the first game which skills to bulk up to get easy wins, might have helped. (Ninjas were difficult first time I played, easy to beat after playing through the original).
