The thing that bothers me about the 'gotcha' moment, is that even if Dregg was a woman.. you can't fake a pregancy. They would have found out eventually that (s)he wasn't pregnant. Someone so meticulous as Kelwig should have thought about that.
Thanks for the game. Really enjoyed it. Got 108, or something, spirit orbs (you get more by clicking the head stones and coffins), and 0 hints used. Wasn't crazy difficult - which for me in adventure games usually means I can eventually figure it out without having to google the answer, lol.
Surprisingly well written. As if the game author wrote themself into the game of a mystery, as a playwright, writing himself into a play of a mystery... like layers of inception type stuff... With a narrative and characters like that, game mechanics are less important. Well done.
Great game. There are not enough proper strategy type games on KG, that are not also tower defense. This game breaks the mold a bit (5/5).
[Comments]
1.) I'd like to echo a suggestion: health indicators, esp. for low health units (or perhaps notifications that could also be used for other events). Nothing more frustrating than playing until the boss then losing one you've leveled out of the blue, or finishing a level then realizing your unit count is down not knowing when or where it happened. It's virtually impossible to check the health of each individual unit while also managing the fight.
2.) Easier way to view unit stats & compare with other units. Swapping in and out of storage is tedious.
This game should be in pre-alpha, and not public. Gameplay has potential, but perhaps get a professional artist, or work at it some more?
Pro's:
- good gameplay, fun. Fun game
- custom guns are a interesting and novel idea, perhaps expand on this
Cons:
- Buggy:
** guns removed from tank still stay there in-game, wasting my energy and slowing r.o.f.
** custom guns appear on top of standard guns in selector panel
** the semi-transparent 'fade-out' effect stays there sometimes when bringing mouse back onto stage
(consider having all user input completely remove all traces of that sprite)
- bad graphics (everything from ui-widgets to tanks are rushed and embossed, bland colors, boring stage composition & gfx)
- needs better guns management: save, load, delete, etc.
- could improve on gun creator tool, e.g. pre-made barrels, nut's-n-bolts, etc. or just better drawing tools.
