The first time I clicked on the Investors tab, the tutorial guy popped up and wouldn't go away, obscuring the most of the screen. Running up-to-date Vista and Firefox. Fixed with reloading the page.
AAAAAGGHHHH, IT'S ALL DIFFERENT, I'M OUT OF MY COMFORT ZONE, THEY RUINED IT, AAAAAGGGHHH!!!! *ahem* Right, now the panic has subsided and I can think with my non-monkey-brain, I can respond. New UI seems nice-ish if a bit daunting at first, scroll bars would help here for the non-tableteers. Blocking the money value with the Upgrade/etc screen is a no-no, you should always be able to see your total and how fast it's climbing. Separating the Angel and Money Upgrades is a nice touch for those in their early game. Seems to run a bit rougher, though, taking up more resources. More achievements and upgrades are nice. All in all, a decent update. Thanks! Don't listen to the haters, just add scroll bars and their bleating will cease.
This is me playing this game: "Charm? That wasn't in the last game. Wonder what it does?" *gets to first level with Amazons* Seriously? BREASTS are a power now?!"
FFS, how is the industry supposed to get any recognition with childish crap like this? This is a decent game, just please hire someone older than 12 to come up with the powers next time.
TL, DR: 3/5, Not a bad little game, but it's got some flaws that annoy me.
Good things: Upgrade system for towers is lifted out of the first game, where it does the same good job. The towers are different from each other and fulfill different roles, making it a tactical choice in how you use them. The levels are generally quite good, with only a few bad eggs in there. The heroes and spells are nicely done, if a bit fiddly.
Bad things: Mana recharge rates are terrible, making using the better spells nigh-impossible later in the game. Game needs a better hero upgrade system too. Just fiddling with the spells is pretty boring, especially since you're lumbered with just one tree and only 10 levels. When your pet dies, it doesn't respawn until you die.
However, like the first, it's got that special something that, if some tweaks are made, could put it up among the best of the genre.
Nice game, but having trouble unlocking stuff as it won't acknowledge I've beaten Normal difficulty, which makes getting XP difficult.
Also, typo in Night Watch mode ("their" instead of "they're")
Some decent scares, but music overuse makes me less scared and some strange decisions in puzzles made me scratch my head. Great chainsaw puzzle though.
Bit buggy. Sometimes, I pick the wrong murderrer because of a wrong clue. I just got hit by a Not A Convicted Felon murderer who was a Convicted Felon. Still, nice game. 4/5
