Once youve maxed out your altar and the invincibility spell its all over. All I did to beat the challenges on epic was to wait for full mana then spam shield and berserk.
A really hit or miss game. Strategy has nothing to do with it. Its really dependent on whether your troops decide to kill zombies that day. If they hit then you win, if they decide to miss, you lose. Holding ground marginally increases accuracy but that's about it. Sometimes I wish my units would just stand and die in order to deny the zombies the ability to move forward rather than retreating like cowards every time.
This game is way too easy, which makes it a little more tedious in the long run. It just ends up being a endless grind to get upgrades once the difficulty plateaus. And that worm boss? I beat it in literally 15 seconds with the flamethrower.
The game is very solid, mechanics are all great, and the survivors are pretty funny. The lack of difficulty makes this slightly less than stunning.
For all of you who says the A.I. "cheats"...it actually can't "cheat." It's programmed to act certain ways given a variety of different variables. And by the way, this seems to be a battle within the large scale of the battle of the bulge. The germans threw the entirety of their army at the allies. So it makes sense that they'd have assloads of artillery and airstrikes, that they'd have efficient and professional soldiers, and that they'd have experienced and deadly tank crews. Of course they're going to bomb the crap out of you if you have twenty guys all bunched together halting an advance.
Just enjoy the game and change your strategy if it doesn't work.
Love the mortars, just dont put any units to far up the map and you can easily get these bad boys to colonel. Cycles are more annoying than anything else. Just focus fire or get a sniper. To those complaining about arty and air strikes...its called a bunker. Just pop in a sig and an officer and that takes care of the planes too. Besides, if you're guys are so close together that they all get blown up by one arty barrage you deserve what you get. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.
