If you make a game that scores you on tight and precise button presses, better make sure that it also has goddamn tight control responsiveness. If you make a rhythm game, make sure that the goddamn queues match EXACTLY the rhythm of the song. Failing on both accounts is a 2/5 for effort.
A lot of bad features mixed in with mediocre puzzles. Auto-redirect to your home page? A storefront game start page? Select language, where you confirm by clicking X? WTF DESIGN.
Severe balancing issues. After the first reset there's pretty much no point in doing the research, since the decryption bonuses don't stack onto it, but get added and they are vastly superior, so research bonuses add up to 0,001% of your income. Furthermore it's detrimental to use more than 2-4 core extensions. Reason is twofold. 1: the highest tier of process is your sole source of income - lower ones are petty change. Always. 2: Efficiency works best with a full core and multiplies between cores. . Thus getting your highest tier on as many cores as you can that are filled to the brim with junk gets you the highest income... This game is deeply flawed and can't be fixed without a total rebalance of decryption bonuses and the way they add to the total bonus.
Make up your mind. Either it's a puzzle game or it's a reflex-based game. Trying to do both makes me think you ran out of level ideas (cause creating puzzles is hard) and went for a cheap cop-out. 3/5 - could have been a good expansion of the sokoban concept, but fell flat on its face.
Hmmm... Is there an engine bug where the rewind mechanic utilizes the movement engine and a rewind can influence specific ingame objects that weren't influenced by the original move? Test by moving AWAY from a light switch and then rewinding one step (such that the rewind step hits the switch). This results in no moves being made but situation (light) changes. Or did I misremember something?
I was trying that out and couldn't get it to replicate, but I made the team aware and it is on their list to look into! Our Steam version is up-to-date and does not suffer from this bug if you would like to check it out on there :D
The moneymaker machine was not as ineffective as anticipated. The dragon quest took ages. Chester is the best source of money and the jester is totally cost-ineffective.
Area 4 final boss guide (hard badge). --- TEAM: healer (defensive AI) + damage dealer (offensive AI) + you. --- SKILLS: all stun you can get (break + 2x shatter bolt) ; focus removal (disrupt x2-3) ; buff removal (electro bolt x1) ; focus regen (regeneration lvl 5 or more) --- GEAR: farm area 3 boss for healer gear ; you take leftovers ; damage dealer takes the best gear from the shop for their class (I used Amber with assasin gear). Goal is to have vitality 55+ for all characters (450+ HP to survive normal attacks) and speed 120+ for yourself and damage dealer (to deal debuffs/stuns and damage). --- TACTIC: Ignore sidekicks (your companions will deal with them) ; stun boss as often as possible ; always keep boss focus below 100 (he has a 100focus instakill attack) ; remove all boss's buffs ; keep own focus above 30. Your damage dealer will do the rest. A few tries and you're done. I got through at character lvl 17.
Now THAT is some dedicated community management. I have never seen a game before, where nearly EVERY SINGLE COMMENT (except pure spam and the last month) gets a dev answer. 5/5 just for that. Game is really 3.5/5. Theme gets old quickly (trailers being the exception), because it's actually being underused, so it gets repetitive. And the puzzles get a bit too annoying around the 8th movie.
So this game would actually benefit from ditching extra levels in favor of adding a bit of plot in the existing levels - but that's water under the bridge right now. Remember to even out investment next time ;)
