this series has come such a long way since the beginning, and the writing is at its best here, aside from a few proofreading errors that confused me a little. Chronicles being "non-canon" is a lie that I won't entertain any longer
This is a very well made game and I hope the developers continue making more in their soul franchise. Highly fleshed out with a great balance between grinding and actually being involved in combat. Not to mention the various different ways a player can choose to optimize their gold-building schemes to obtain valuable upgrades or to reinvest into the empire.
If these developers had the time and funds, I have no doubts they could release a full game with several different mechanics and a rewarding storyline, with a fair difficulty and strong play routine. Their track record with their previous games is quite solid, but this one in particular stands above the rest by head and shoulders in terms of scope and gametime. Easy to pick up and get started, hard to put down, and it has a charming art style to boot.
down to no revive items, and lance gets resummoned from the tank. After my stun on him wears out, I brace for defeat. I healed instead of defending, and he casts Ion Cannon. It wipes out Natalie with 8k damage, but matt's still up. I was ready to just go all out on one last turn trying to finish the tank's tiny sliver of hp off. And then i realized the ion cannon killed the tank too, which ended the battle. Boozes and Floozies ftw!
great puzzle concept and design, just personally wasn't for me considering how the player would need an insane amount of foresight in order to complete these puzzles, or otherwise deal with plenty of trial and error
Well, that's one way to look at it. I guess foresight is something that's needed for all puzzle games!
