Henchmen are completely useless; their pathing makes you backtrack often to try and protect them, and they're completely defenseless against horsemen. Similarly, jumping needs a great deal of work - you can't attack vertically when you're in the air, and so you're stuck either hitting the horseman and getting hit multiple times, or jumping and chasing the horseman back several steps, again risking getting swarmed.
This game has a great concept, but it needs a lot more work. Compared to the game it's based off of, it's terrible. Two stars from me.
