anyone else unable to play on steam and here on kongregate (with the same game)? ... I always get the message, that the steam game is more advanced than the kong one ? (V1.47 steam vs. V1.46 here)
Ironically, not even the "QUIT" button works. The cyan Menu got a collection of 6 buttons with no description and no function. seriously, why is this released?
What is the sense in spending Specialists on the top left planet (interdisziplinary projects)? The first step is 5 Spec. already which increases 2 branches by 8%... but not spending the Specialists would be 10% on all outputs... that gets worse with each step taking more Specialists and still giving only 8%.
quote: "Am I the first who gives free version of the game which cannot be fully beaten?" nope, you are not.. you are also not the first and probably not the last to ask for payment for a non-game... AND you are not the last one, who is not getting any payment (from me at least).. but here is your 1 star rating... reason: ugly (no) graphic. barely any gameplay.
From a programmers aspect, I would really be interested in the algorith that thse bikes use to make their decisions. Currently I got 20 bikes in lvl 3. About 5 of them make it through the U turn on the top right, and then all of them crash into the wall where the 90° right run is. They all actively steer left into the wall and there is no progress after 30+ generations of wall suicide. From a learning algorith I would expect it to evolve into not making the same mistake twice... but the bikes make the same mistake a hundred times and still expect the outcome to be better the next try.
TWELVE hours to scout the third colony? Seriously? What for? You spend hours to farm the winged ants to start scouting and then there is a 12h waiting time for what? There is nothing reasonable to be doing in the meantime. ridiculous
Slow progression is one thing... but NO progression at all is another. In order to build the Flying ants and the Soldier to conquer the second Colony, you need to kill your own production line multiple times. Building it all in one go is unreasonable due to the extreme diminishing returns in building. Workers are pretty much totally useless. They are made from larvae and are consumed... they do not work.. they do not produce anything, they are basically just transformed larvae and nothing would change if everthing that requires worker would instead require larvae directly (with the respective formula). Getting 16 Flying ants is a burden. Getting 10 more and 250 workers for the soldier is work not play. but getting 10.000 food in excess for the soldier is a nightmare... and I do not even have any idea, if the second colony will be worth it, as queen larvae production is pretty much neglible compared to larvae made from food.... much work to be done to gain a good rating.
Lately a bunch of "helpful players" seem to upvote wrong tags on some games... This one got over 20 idle and icrementation votes... and it surely is neither. I can only expect people intentionally trying to destroy the tag-system of Kong, so Kong should take action against the idiots.
I had mixed feelings about the graphical update for as long as I first saw the previews... and unfortunately I got that feelings confirmed by the live version... Consider me crazy, but I do not like the update at all. I can understand the need to make more room for upcoming stuff, but the visibility took a severe hit with the new "all in one scrolling list" kind of tabs for updates and research. For me it got harder to find the update/research, that I want to buy and the new text font is a lot harder to read for me. Along with the pixilated style, I personally would rather have kept the previous style.. Sorry.
I love idle games... but I want to at least make a few decisions to influence how the game is running.. In this game, I got no decision to make. All currencies can only be spent on a single kind of upgrade and I got no way to earn a specific currency instead of all of them. ... So... basically the game is wait and click some upgrades (and do not think at all which one, cause there is no choice)...
You might also wish to improve the length of the game really fast. Promising an "ever growing game" was tried a few times before, but you simply do not get a second chance for a first impression. ... Also, I am not really sure, how I can have half populations... Is that a worker, who will only work half a day? Half units of wood and stone are already a bit strange, but half units of population is a bit silly.
I think the biggest weakness of your game is the interface. Scrolling up and down all the time just to see ressources is simply a no-go. The blue text is hard to read in the middle grey background. To me the project seems like a programmer was throwing together some things for testing and is currently waiting for a graphic designer to even take a look at it... improve the design, then you might get good ratings.
A new "kind" of idle game?? Like how? Looks more to me like another version of the same kind of non-idle "click till your mouse dies" game. Also a game, where I am welcomed with a "purchase" message, fails to raise my interest.
After testing it for a few days, I can pretty much sum up my experience with one word: boring. ... All you ever do is buy upgrades, to keep up with the ever increasing monster stats... there is no strategy or tactic involved in that... you just smach that button as long as your gold is out. ... the "pay kristall for life" button is far to big for the little but of gameplay there is. ... when you do indeed idle, the only stat that matters is gold/minute, as nothing else will happen, once you get defeated down to 2 life... after lvl 50 I am supposed to be earning suns, but I am lvl 60 now and the text next to reset says, I will be getting +0 suns with next reset. ... so in total: nice graphic, terrible game.
A mute button to stop the music should also stop the (annoying) sound when the mobs die.... also a game should alwas either start muted or give that option.
I would love to give it a high rating, but the usability is lacking.
The ability to rotate and zoom seems to be "sometimes broken" or "sometimes working" which makes it a case of luck to select the units you want to select.
@acmer: For me it is the Popular achievement (1 septillion fame from races), which does not register and goes way beyond 100%. .... Seems like there is a general bug with registering the "fame from races" achievements...
I really like idle games, but this one takes it a step to far... idling for hours to then make a single click is a bit boring... there just isn't anything to do but to wait, once you are at 6-letter words or beyond.
@Steini: That is cause half of your Trimps are always busy with making new trimps (ewwww)... so when you get 3 new Trimps from a hut, then that is 1-2 available and 2-1 reproducing... alternating.
We have just released the version that fix that. Enjoy :-)
