Trying to select a group can be incredibly obnoxious. Also annoying is that your guys seem to constantly stop short of their destination, most often if they engage in combat or are trying to pass a obstacle of some kind.
strategy is pretty much the same for each race; swarm the hell out of the other guy. My favorite race for doing this is Klosian, their base has an extra build range, and their cheap guys move and shoot farther than their counterparts.
5minutesoff, what I've just played... is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever experienced. At no point in this rambling, incoherent game was it even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. I am now dumber for having played it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
I'd really appreciate the ability to either set my troops before battle or pause to give them orders. Trying to organize an army while it's advancing out of my control is annoying, especially when you get above 6 or so squads.
If you want to win any map in under 10 minutes, here's what you do: build collectors until you have 3 or so energy production. Build a number of blasters and mortars (this depends on the level. In Cells, if you're fast enough you can pull it off with 3-4 blasters. In the Bowl, you need something like 2 mortars and 6-8 blasters per spawn point.) Now take all of those blasters and move them in to surround the creeper spawn points and as soon as the creeper recedes, build relays to your blasters to resupply them with ammunition. Repeat as necessary until all spawn points are suppressed. Build to the totems and victory is yours. This method will likely take some experience before it can be reliably pulled off, so I recommend using more blasters and mortars and necessary on your first attempts.
Red herrings are really bloody annoying when trying for the obsessive compulsive achievements. For that matter flagging seems bugged in that it doesn't seem to register that I'm trying to switch into said mode.
