If you can get some Artifact Equips early on, then you're good. Use the wings near death and since you have the ArtEquips you have a huge advantage VS the early monsters.
To beat the game this is all you need. Max a bunch of weak units like Goblins Dwarf Engineers, etc. and 1 or 2 titans. Send all your units forward while keeping your heros ALL the way back. Go watch NCIS Burn Notice or some other 1 hour show on USA. Game complete.
