survival mode is where you get all the coins, adventure mode is just cool, but most of the playing time is in survival, which is how you can get thousands of coins in like 30 mins. so the upgrades are pretty balanced as far as that goes, cheaper and the game would be boringly easy... also, the sale of the day is incredibly helpful, when chicken flap was 90% off i got it and boosted my survival score in the caves to 3800 from around 2000
